It was essentially midnight, but I feel like I don't want to go home and stay a little longer. It was a beautiful night coated with glazing stars and a cold breeze.
My heart feels soothing while staring at the beautiful night sky. It reminds me of the reason why I'm still living.
A notification popped up on my phone and I read it.
' Tomorrow is a big day. '
I looked at the time on my phone and it's almost 11.00pm.
I have a lot of work to do, and I am quite busy this week. I stayed up until late at night to finish my job and I'm stressed about it. My head hurts a lot and that's the main reason I came here. Looking at the calm Han river at night while watching the beautiful night sky makes me feel calm and relaxed.
"What are you doing here at this time."
A voice came out of nowhere. I didn't notice anything at first until he suddenly walked closer to me.
I shrugged.I saw a man wearing black jeans and a black shirt with a black cap standing beside me.
My face became pale. I'm scared something dangerous will happen to me. My mind kept on thinking of a way to escape from this awkward situation until I saw a slight smile appear on his face.
"Don't worry. I'm not going to eat you."
He seems like a good man, but I still need to be careful.
I carved a smile on my face, but I feel a little awkward since we don't know each other. Then, I decided to break the silence.
"I just want to clear my mind. I'm having a rough time, so I decided to come here. But, why are you coming here? "
A big silence came in a few seconds. He then replied,
"Same as you."
We had a nice conversation that night, and he asked me a few things. I feel very comfortable talking to him.
I think that my stress fades into thin air just like that. We chatted too much until I realized that it was already 1.00 am. Suddenly, he asked me for a favor
"Do you want to hang out and get some ice cream? Let me cheer you up. "
Hearing the word' ice cream' makes me starved since I haven't had my dinner yet, but I think that the shop is already closed and I have a big meeting for tomorrow.
I feel guilty refusing his offer, but I promise to meet him next time.
" I would really love to but I have a big meeting tomorrow. What about if I treat you next time? By the way, I'm Kim Aerin."
He then introduced himself
"I'm... never mind.Anyway, it's nice to meet you. I can't wait to see you again."
He looked at me with a smile hovering on his face. We both parted with a single goodbye. I went back to my house and lay down on my bed. I stared at the ceiling with a smile plastered on my face. He seemed very nice and kind to me.
But then, my smile faded away when I remembered the moment I spent with the man that I really loved left me. I still feel the pain.
"You..."
"Who are you?"
The question keeps on lingering in my mind until I didn't realize that I drifted into a deep sleep.
