"You mentioned my grandfather's name. So, you know him?" Violet asked.
"Yeah. He is the human realm's representative. He is wise and you are so dumb. Are you two really related?" Renji replied smugly.
Violet desperately wants to get out of the woods now and finally get away from the kitsune, Renji, but wander off on her own and she would just get herself lost even more. She asked Renji (read as demanded) to lead her out of the forest, but Renji seems to not be interested in doing so an hour earlier he just told her to finish the soup first to regain strength.
Usually, Violet doesn't like eating foods that are not from expensive restaurants or cooked from her home, but her stomach is grumbling and her mind couldn't focus on anything other than food. She took a sniff at the bowl.
"Smells nice," Violet thought.
Then a small sip.
"Whoa! Whoa! Easy there, tiger. No one's gonna take your soup away from you," Renji said while laughing after seeing Violet wolfing down the soup.
"Shut up. I'm hungry!" Violet said between huge sips.
"I didn't know you were such a pig," Renji commented.
A wooden bowl then smashed his skull thanks to Violet who threw it.
Back to the present, Violet is fuming from the insults Renji has thrown at her. He called her various stuff including being a pig and now he just compared her to her grandfather and called her dumb!
Violet sighed. "Okay, listen well. I have had enough of your insults."
"Are you?" Renji asked with a cat-like grin.
Violet ignored that. "And if you are not going to help me go back to my grandfather's place, then I am going to try to get there by myself," she huffed and started getting up to leave.
"You know full well that you will just get yourself lost," Renji challenged.
"I'd rather get lost than stay here with a kitsune who keeps on belittling me!" Violet shouted out of rage and stormed out.
It is possible, of course, that she will only get herself lost. Violet doesn't know the layout of the Suzuki Forest and most likely will just get herself lost even more or worse, get eaten by hungry, wild animals. On top of that, she just met a kitsune! A real-life fox spirit that can take the form of a man and a fox! She felt lucky enough for Renji to take care of her for a while, but she couldn't just sit there and listen to his insults! But what if there are other kinds of spirits around the forest who won't just insult her but really harm her?
A strong hand gripped Violet's left hand. She turned around in surprise and saw Renji with a defeated look on his face.
"Fine, I'll take you back to Seto," Renji said while rubbing the back of his neck and averting his eyes from her. "I was just having fun with you."
"Insulting me is not fun!" Violet retorted.
"Yeah, it is not," Renji said then looked back at her with a grin. "But seeing your frustrated expression is fun."
Violet stomped her feet. "Ugh! You are so annoying!"
"See what I mean, you annoyed little girl?" Renji said.
Violet couldn't help screaming out of frustration while Renji just laughed it out.
