"Any signs of them yet ?"
Flying in the air, one of his teammates' voices sounded in his communicator. Squinting his eyes, Luke replied, "None. Why don't you ask the guys in front instead of me?"
Sound of giggles appeared as Orzo replied jokingly, "Well, as long as we know that your skin still intact then all good."
Not understanding what Orzo had said, Luke was about to ask back when suddenly the air in front of him seemed like it shook. A heavy, huge presence filled the air as the mana flow in the air became erratic. Luke's pupils trembled as he felt something blocking his sense in magic.
"Alert! We may have encountered the Dead Zone! Every personnel starts preparing your weapons and the energy shield! We are in a combat state, red light!" shouted captain Morlock in the team's intercom as everyone began to quickly execute the order.
Every situation always had a grade of assessment for the severity of it. Green light was the signal for the situation had come under control and all enemies had been subdued. Yellow light would be the sign for the situation was still not under control and there would be some enemies that may ambush the squad, keep vigilant. While the red light would signal as the situation was in full combat mode and there would be many assaults incoming. And the last would be a purple light for situation that was hopeless for the soldiers to return alive and it might be a suicide mission onwards.
It was a few minutes ago that they had left the perimeter check and flew towards the area of several factories gathered together. The place was estimated to be five square kilometers long and had a hard time receiving radio signals. Their plan was to infiltrate and scout the area from the air as they fly with jet thrusters from the mech armors' feet and back.
Switching off the safety lock of his assault guns and replacing the ordinary bullets into AP (Armor Piercing) bullets, Luke steadied the gun's barrel forward. Looking at the Dead Zone, which was the name for an area that had the mana flows thrown into chaos. Any magic that passed, going in or out the area, would have a hard time to activate. The mana flow wouldn't be able to flow into the spell's design and instead would cause quite an outburst within the spell.
'So this is why my boost magic didn't work…' thought Luke as he continued to fly at moderate speed. Keeping track of his distance and position in the formation just like in the drill.
He had thought that if the divination magic would have no effect for their enemies, he would try to use hacking right into the factories network and breach the securities camera and reroute them into his database. He had tried to enchant the hacking program but was met with failure. Not only that the protection system of the network was more advanced than he thought, his connection magic was cut off and failed immediately.
Contemplating on whether he should start with his microphonic-eyes spell, something had been detected on his system's radar. A group of heat signatures coming on him from the direction of nine o'clock. At the same time, Saphir's voice sounded, "I had sighted some avian creatures heading my way. There were quite a lot of them. They were identified as one of the weakest types in Abominations. Permission to open fire?"
"Permission granted." replied captain Morlock shortly as there's some gunshots ringing in the background, "our condition was that we are under attack. Be careful, soldiers. The battle had started."
"There's some avian Abomination in my location as well! There's a horde of them!"
"I saw some mech that was controlled from far away attacking me, together with a dozen of six legged Abominations!"
Soon, the team's intercom became lively as each member had met with either Abominations or controlled mech assaulting them from the ground and reported it for everyone to know their situation. Pointing the tip of his gun towards the flying Abominations, Luke followed suit and reported his condition as well as he shot at the incoming enemies.
*Shrriiiek*
Roaring loudly as they saw one of their brethren had fallen down from the barrage of bullets, the Abominations simultaneously opened their mouth as green light shone from their throat. In the next moment, the green light had become a green laser beam as thick as a human's thigh, flew towards Luke in seconds.
Booming noises sounded as if a few thunders had struck upon something. But behind the smoke, a translucent blue shield in the shape of a sphere had enveloped Luke's whole body. Aiming his gun at the horde again as their distance grew shorter in each passing seconds, Luke started to shoot the bullets and tried to whittle down his foes.
After the range between them had reached only fifty meters away, Luke quickly activated his jet thrusters as he turned his body behind and flew, while muttering, "Combat mode, on. Unleash the War Android Rosemare's chain of restraint."
"[Activating… Rosemare combat mode had been initiated.]"
Shooting its mini caliber guns all this time, the Rosemare's drone stopped on its assault and began to reconstruct its whole body. Using the nanotechnology stored in its system as well as the space enchantment on its design, its body started to grow an armored humanoid form, with its face only having one big eye lens that glowed in orange color.

Throwing his assault guns filled with AP round bullets to Rosemare, Luke said, "Let's kick those things asses."
Flicking both of his wrist, two eagle handguns had suddenly appeared on his hands. Closing his eyes, Luke thought of a single spell word on his mind as magic circuits began to connect with both of his handguns, 'ᚲᛟᚾᚾᛖᚲᛏᛁᛟᚾ (Connection).'
Soon, inside of the two handguns, a multiple layer of magic circle appeared as Luke muttered softly, "ᚱᛖᚲᚱᛖᚨᛏᛁᛟᚾ... (Recreation…)."
The tip of the handgun's barrels started to suck the air around it as that same air began to envelop the bullets, while some glowing runes spread on the bullet's outside layer. Turning his body behind, Luke stopped flying away and just floating in the sky. With his side, Rosemare starts to shoot at the approaching Abominations one by one. When their distance finally only thirty meters apart, Luke pointed both of his handguns that were humming from the magic power as he smiled slightly inside his helmet.
"Eat this, you bastards."
