Revan picked up the basket and brought it closer to the rest of the children. Revan noticed something different as well. "Rei where's your dad and where did all these extra tents come from?"
Rei: Father is sleeping in the tent right now. When we went out yesterday to speak with the other tribes we actually thought it would be a good idea to bring them closer to the fighting ring. Most of the families left their area and came closer to us. Now we have more security and the atmosphere doesn't feel as painfully hopeless
Revan: Good, things are going better than I thought they would. Are these kids also from other villages as well?
Rei: Yeah, most of them are from other villages but is there enough food for everyone?
Revan took a look over his shoulder and peered into the basket. It was more than 2 feet deep and the basket was very wide as well. "Well, everyone start a line and I'll start handing out the food. We can't have people coming up and taking food because their might not be enough for everyone."
The closest kid was Rei and he made the start of the line. "Everyone come behind me."
There were at least 20 kids in the line but it was probably an upwards of 30 people. Revan reached into the basket and gave each kid 2 pieces of fruit, 3 pieces of bread and 4 pieces of meat. The bottom of the basket had vegetables and he left those till the end. While everyone started eating he walked past and dropped some vegetables to go with their meals.
The kids were sitting cross legged in front of Revan as they ate. Rei was ravenously munching on his food. Voices started to come from their mouths.
"Sooo, good."
"Delicious"
"Are we getting this everyday?"
Revan postured in front of the group with his hands on his hips. "Listen up all of you. I won't force you but I will warn you, knowledge is priceless and my words even more-so. I will be coming almost daily to your village and I will be providing you food. However, I may not have enough food for everyone everyday.... so as to benefit me the most... fighters will be fed first, the most skilled fighters would be at the top of that list. If you want more food you have to work for it. You can feel hate towards me and think that it is unfair but you would be a stupid idiot to think like that. First of all, it ruins your own mood and second of all you should be grateful. I can already see annoyed expressions and dislike in the eyes of a few of you. You're probably thinking, "Oh, if he can bring that much food and he himself eats he probably has a big backing and way more food so why is he being stingy. Well, you can say I'm being stingy but that doesn't mean you shouldn't be grateful."
Revan: You must work for what you want in life. If you are angry and dissatisfied you are spoiled. You guys said it yourselves, this food is delicious right? Probably one of the best things you've tasted? If that is true you lot should be grateful for the food you have and be grateful for me as well. If it wasn't for me you might've been killed by the bandits AND even if you didn't die you'd still be eating poorly and not eating enough. Listen to what I'm saying without letting your emotions heavily influence you..... what I am saying is true and just because you don't like what I say..... doesn't mean that it's false..... way too many people act like that's the case, especially on Earth in 2020
Rei: Where's Earth on this planet?
Revan: Oh..... ah I'll tell you about it some other time or who knows, I may even take you there if you'd like
