"Why the hell are you here?"
Apparently, Uncle T didn't really think things through before bringing Janessa here… actually, looking at him now I think my uncle is just weak against girls. I looked over to him in an attempt to let him know how upset I was and he avoided eye contact.
"Don't take that tone with me! I came here cause you were doing stupid sh*t and got in trouble."
"You act like you're somebody's momma or more accurately somebody's GRANDmomma!"
For some reason, I couldn't stop myself from being pissed at her. It's like I'm surrounded by stupidity right now.
"Did you not think twice about how dangerous it is for you to be with us?"
"I did but… I just wanted to know you were okay."
Suddenly, my uncle decided to step in.
"Okay okay, calm down. I know this isn't exactly ideal but don't worry so much. Apparently, she has just as much of a reason to run away as you do. Just calm down and-"
"Why?"
"What do you mean?"
"Why is she running?"
"I think she needs to tell you that."
I looked over at Nessa and saw that she seemed uncomfortable. A part of me really wants to comfort her but I'm still frustrated that she's here. For now, I'll just hear from her what's going on.
"Why are you running Jen?"
"...because my "parents" were trying to marry me off…"
"THAT'S WHY YOU'RE RUNNING?! OVER SOME STUPID SHIT LIKE THAT?!"
"YOU'RE AN ASSHOLE!!"
Suddenly, Nessa took off out of the kitchen and ran to one of the back rooms. It wasn't on purpose but… I think I hurt her feelings. I've never really seen Jen cry like that.
"Uhh, maybe you should go fix that d*ckhead."
"...no"
Rinata came of nowhere and slapped me. After I'd been through I didn't think a slap would hurt. I thought wrong.
"You haven't even heard th whole story yet and you're already casting her aside. You only have a few people left who really care about you, don't you think she's the same."
I really don't even know what Rinata said. I'm just pissed that this b*tch really just slapped me. I oughta knock her teeth through her neck. Unfortunately, I know if I even showed a little hostility toward her I'd probably die before I could touch her. I'll just go check on Nessa I guess.
It's been about ten minutes since then and I can't find her in any of the rooms. There's only one room left but it's pitch black in there. I walked in and searched the wall for a light switch but it was for naught. I guess I'll just stay against the wall and search the room. I can sense Jen's presence somewhere in here so I assume I'm in the right place.
In the distance, I could see a bunch of small lights. That was when I realized just how vast this one room was. I ran to the other end and after about thirty seconds I made it to the lights. The lights were hung up on the walls and ceiling in a way that it looked like the stars in the night sky and there in the midst of it all was Jen. Without saying anything, I sat down beside her.
After a while of complete silence, I decided that she was waiting for me to break the silence so I spoke up.
"Hey-"
"AHHHH!!!"
*CRACK*
So apparently, she wasn't waiting for me to say something. She just had no idea I was there. At least Rinata only slapped me. I think she might've chipped one of my teeth with that kick.
"So why exactly are you really running away?"
"I-..."
She hesitated. I assume she's scared to talk to me about it because of how I reacted before.
"I'm sorry about before. You're basically the only person I've ever been real friends with and… I'm just worried about you. But I'm here for you. I'll listen to anything that's on your mind."
She seemed to loosen up after I said this. I guess you could call me casanova heheh-
"PFFT You're so corny"
Well… at least I'm funny and good looking
"Do you remember when we were younger and the prince tried to rape that little girl."
"Hell yeah. I was the one who beat his ass."
"Haha yeah. I've always been thankful for that."
"What do you mean?"
"I was the little girl stupid. Don't you remember?"
"Honestly… no. I try not to think about the details from back then… I'm sorry I forgot."
I can't believe I never realized that. We've always been best friends so I guess that was just natural back then.
"My parents have been trying to sell me to the prince even since back then. The king promised my dad a better position and his new wife agreed. Dad doesn't care about anything but power and money so it was obvious that he'd give me up."
"I'm sorry… I didn't realize all that."
"It's okay…"
"Ya know… if you were already married, the prince wouldn't be able to touch you…"
"Are- are you proposing to me?"
"Well… there's nobody better looking out there so I figured I'd make you the happiest woman alive ya know."
"HAHAHA You're so full of it but… maybe I'll think about it."
Whoa… I have no idea where all of that even came from. Logan are you crazy? I don't know why but… looking into ye something feels… different…
"Logan!"
Sh*t! Uncle T's voice scared the f*ck out of me.
"WHAT?!"
"Lovey-dovey time is over. It's time to train."
There at the entrance was Uncle T, Vice Captain Rinata, and Vice Captain Shin. It seems like my training regiment won't be so easy.
