As the dinner raged on, Riley soaked in her parents' approval and that of the rest of the people around the table. She allowed herself to drift from one unimportant conversation to the next. From headscarves to the tapestry to the floral arrangements, something which Zane has already claimed, and so on and so forth. She was not invested in any of them particularly much because what she really wanted to talk about was the dream, she had last night.

"Why am I here? Where is Mel?" Riley asked as she walked over towards the sliding door. There was a rainforest outside but she did not recognise it. Beyond the trees laid a desert with barren landscapes and a dry stench of hopelessness.
