*This is a continuation of chapter 85 after the chief's trip down memory lane. I am using Norse, Nigerian and Gaul mythology loosely. So, although based on actual research, some of the abilities and characteristics of the respective deities are based on folktales, some of the others are not. I love mythology and the beings therein and I mean no disrespect with this novel. *
Everyone was leaning forward and craning their bodies to listen to the Chief's story. He had a foggy look in his eye like he had stepped out of the moment and revisited the day the "blonde goddess with an invisible cloak of feathers" knocked on his door.
"Kondolerer, Chief, I am so sorry about your boys. There is no replacement for family," Melissa spoke, and her twin offered a sad look in agreement. It was not the first of those stories she had heard in her life but suffering, especially that of others was not something she desired to get used to.
