Nikola's heart was beating violently in her chest as she watched the barrier of defence melt under the harsh firepower of their enemy. The mages were trying their level best to maintain the barrier, but the Orishas were too strong. One of them stepped forward and raised her hands. It did not take long to piece together from whom she was a descendant. The Orisha of crossroads was here to forge a path for her allies. A path straight through Nikola's entire line of defence.
"They're going to get through!" Quaahir muttered without realizing he was talking. Nikola offered her friend a wary look. The friends shared the look and then their attention snapped back to their enemy. This was when they would need to make their stand.
"I'm going to need you to tap into every bit of Kush blood running through your veins" she chucked but the fear was very evident in her voice.
