"What the fuck?" Nikola groaned as she pushed herself to her feet. Her head was pounding, and she tasted blood in her mouth.
Huh? Had she been in a fight? No. she would have remembered that Nikola thought. She pushed through the pain and moved to stand up despite the blind pain surging through her body as she got to her feet. There was a flash of white light behind her eyes that made her uneasy on her feet. She pinched the bridge of her nose and clenched her eyes tightly close.
