"She is fighting an uphill battle," Maleek said and skipped the pebble across the emerald lake. Riley sighed and watched the flat stone hop once… twice… three… four…seven…eight… nine times across the glistening water without so much a ripple to account for the contact.
"I do not understand what you want me to do. She is the daughter of Shango and your sister. Why are you not sending her these instructions to help her? I am a lion shifter, and my pride is powerful but from what you are saying, this is not enough to stand against the enemy to come," Riley said and then tried to skip her own stone. It sank immediately. She tried again. It sank again.
Maleek chuckled lightly and then walked up behind her.
