Akihito
Clouded skies, hiding away the sun. The light that was once free flowing and radiant, had dimmed to a point that the world seemed grey.
This change in my Domain had been due to my downcast mood, it reflected my current state.
Plumes of misty vapour enveloped me, the dark skies rumbled, thundering waves of grey clouds billowing above me.
A storm was arriving. In annoyance I simply waved my hands, scattering the innumerable roiling clouds.
Splaying my right hand into a full circle, day finally became night. And a multitude of stars emerged from their lulled period.
And so, with the stars high above me, it was obvious for the moon to arise in my time of need.
For this was my world, "The Garden Of Time. Also known as, the Garden Of Clocks." I was gratified by this, indulging in the creative aspects of mine.
The Garden Of Time was aptly named, as there were clocks hanging off the trees, broken and unbroken.
Their hands never stopped, always in a synchronised matter. The clock's ticking calmed me, resonating a strange rhythm that placated me.
Oftentimes I would find it annoying, but due to my complete authority over this world, I was able to modify the ticking of the clocks and make them render simple tunes.
It was illogical, but not impossible. And with the moon overcasting the land, it was a fantastical ensemble, with the moonlight accompanying it for the scenery.
I was calmly listening to the tune, feeling jovial and somehow lukewarm, "Clear nights are sometimes the coldest." I quoted a novelist, something I did not often do.
But in times of tranquility such as this, it was good to indulge in such things once in a while.
I breathed a mouthful of turbid gas, gazing at the starlit screen before me.
[Twilight Chronograph
Type: Ability
Twilight Chronograph is an unusual ability and there has been few records of the ability. The ability itself allows one to pause time for one second. This ability becomes stronger at night.
Note: If Night Mode is activated, User shall become immortal and will be unable to stop themselves until their objective before activation is completed.
Note: Can be upgraded.
Note: This ability has certain risks and prerequisites to use.
Note: This ability stems from the Law of Time. Granting user a certain resistance against any temporal powers]. I rubbed my eyes in shock, wondering if I had read it wrong.
But no, I was certain that what I was seeing was unreal. But when I had done a double take I realised that it was all true.
My first ability was Time Stop! An unnoticed yet very quintessential of overpowered abilities.
I was undoubtedly excited, and also surprised by my luck. This was because of the fact that since it could be upgraded, it could probably reach a point where I can stop time indefinitely, possibly infinitely.
[Oh? How interesting. The Power of Time is incredibly profound and mysterious. Since you are the first to come in contact with it in this world, I may as well give you a reward since it is one of the maxims programmed into me]. Alviss was apparently equally surprised as I am, although I was a little worried about what rule he had been coded with to have him reward me, but no matter.
A prize is a prize, and rules are rules. Following them is the best option for now.
.....
[Randomising reward.
Please choose one.
1. Ability- Hover
2. Talent- Detection
3. Ability Creation].
....
I was bewildered by the vague choices, so I asked Alviss to elaborate on the options more.
....
[Hover

Note: User can only float 10 meters above the ground].
....

[Ability Creation
Due to Host's unique achievement, the System had decided to grant the Host; Akihito Nakamura permission to create his own unique ability and or grant himself one
Note: Ability created must first be processed by the System before use.
Note: Due to it being the Host's own creation, they can upgrade it themselves without using UP.
Note: System shall restrict it in order to balance out the powers amongst Hosts].
....
My eyes gleamed, the last option was very attractive. An urge to select it formed in my mind.
And so I did, wth no hesitation nor regrets. Smiling, I witnessed a screen appear before me.
Instructing me on how to create an ability. I was dumbstruck as it was definitely more complicated than I had anticipated.
[An ability stems from the user's desire and mental fortitude. The stronger ones will is, the more likely they are to awaken a great power.
Genetics also play a part in it, but mostly personality traits and or wishes and dreams.
Abilities often adhere to the laws of science, an exception to this is high level abilities, where science has not even started research on yet.
But low level abilities such as a small scale pyrogenesis is simple]. It then ranted on how the user would gather heat from the surrounding and condense that heat into a flame.
Later on, it got quite tiresome. Until I realised the meaning of their words, the fact that the abilities were affected by science meant that knowledge came to play as well.
Scientific knowledge in fact. In theory, I had a general idea on what ability to create. But I did not have enough knowledge to confirm it.
So, I had to start wth having to test out my Twilight Chronograph. After all I learned better doing things.
And what better to do so than having to use my abilities continuously until I had comprehended and grasped its principles.
Closing my eyes, I took deep breaths. All in accordance to a certain beat and rhythm, my mind and body was relaxed.
Not a single muscle was tense, I probed through my mind, struggling to find the key in activating my power.
Then all of a sudden, my body jolted backwards, I was tingling all over my body, covered in cold sweat. A slight stinging pain was threatening to pierce my abdomen.
I had no idea what it was, but I had a guess that it was related to my ability as it was probably the only thing that I had done, which was quite suspicious now that I thought about it. And I was correct.
[Warning! User has tried to surpass current limits for {Twilight Chronograph}. Undergoing regulation and inspection].
Unbeknownst to me, my ability had activated itself without me knowing. I looked at my hands to see if there were any changes.
And to my dismay, there was none at all. Which relieved me slightly as I had began to thought that there were more serious consequences.
But it might just be for the earlier stages and the consequences would be even more severe later on. Gulping, I knew that this was more of a dangerous situation now compared to before.
Now, Ability Creation required precision from here on out, and if I made one wrong move at the wrong time; then I'm doomed.
I sighed, "Least it's now or never. Rather than later."
