"Good morning, Lisa." Blair greeted with a wide smile in her face. The old lady cannot help but to smile back and wave her gloved hand in return.
Blair continued walking while appreciating the beauty of the bright yet windy morning. She slowly closed her eyes to feel the breeze but she suddenly opened them when she felt someone behind her.
Blair quickly looked back because the presence sent shivers down her spine but she was shocked to see nothing but an empty pathway. The dancing branches of trees gave a rustling sound that made her look around because she was sure that there was someone standing right behind her.
Until her eyes landed at the tree not too far from her. She squinted her eyes as her brows meet because she is seeing a shadow figure of a human that's peeking.
'Is that the person who stood behind me?' She asked herself and before she could even check it out, someone tapped her on the shoulder that caused her to jerk and hold her chest.
"Jesus, Jessie! You scared me!" She exclaimed but the former just laughed at her.
Blair looked back at the tree but the shadow is already gone, meaning so is the owner. She disappointedly returned her attention to the smirking man in front of her and luckily, her bad feeling quickly faded away.
"Why do you always do that?" Blair annoyingly asked her boyfriend as they are walking on the narrow pathway in their neighborhood.
"Because you always seem to be not in yourself." He answered casually and Blair suddenly fell into deep thinking.
She has been not in herself lately. There are a lot of things going around her mind and being in her mid 20s doesn't help her much.
"Hey!" She yelled in surprise when Jessie stole a kiss on her lips.
Blair glared at her boyfriend but Jessie just smirked at her.
"You were lost again so I thought of an alternative way to bring you back which is effective." Jessie said in a cool way that made Blair shook her head.
But when they continued walking again, Blair felt someone's following them so she looked back but there's no one so she started feeling uneasy.
Jessie just kept talking about their game last night but Blair cannot keep up as the creepy feeling of being followed is not disappearing. She always look behind to check but she always gets the same result, nothing.
The feeling didn't disappeared until their morning walk finished. When they were in front of Blair's house, Jessie noticed the paleness of his girlfriend so he became worried and quickly wrapped his hands around her waist.
"Are you not feeling well, babe? You should have told me." He said sweetly before sweeping some strands of Blair's hair away from her pretty face.
"I'm just... sleepy." Blair answered that made Jessie purse his lips.
"Wanna cuddle?"
"Next time, okay? I have a lot of things to finish too."
"Okay. Rest first, alright?"
Blair nodded before Jessie sealed her in a short kiss. When they parted, the disturbance she have been feeling disappeared too. The comfort came back that she totally forgot the uneasiness that bothered her the whole morning.
Blair was relaxing in her bubble bath after a whole day of working when she felt that feeling again. The feeling of being watched. She quickly sat up in her bathtub and checked the windows. The blinds are closed so is the door so Blair looked around the room and she sighed when she saw nothing suspiscious.
'Maybe I am just being paranoid.' She thought and went back in laying in her tub.
But something caught her peripheral vision that made her sat up again. On the slit under the door is a moving shadow. Now she's certain someone's been stalking her that made her heartrate to increase due to fear.
Blair quickly stood and grabbed her bathrobe. Water is dripping from her body but she doesn't care while slowly walking towards the door with the shower head she disassembled held tightly by her two hands.
She's ready to attack anyone despite being nervous. She opened the bathroom door so slowly because she is afraid to alert the intruder but stopped when she peeked and saw no one inside her room.
She fully opened the door with the shower head still on her other hand. Blair was surprised to see no signs of breaking in as the doors and windows are still locked.
'If ever there was a person here, he cannot leave that fast so there is a possibility that that person is still inside.' Blair thought so she gripped the shower head tightly with her heart constantly banging on her chest.
She looked under her bed and sighed in relief when she saw no one then she slowly walked towards her closet as this is the last place that can be a hiding spot for a human.
'Just hit him hard on the face then call 911.' Blair reminded herself before forcefully opening her closet door.
Her brows met when all she saw were clothes so she rummaged through them and no person is hiding in them.
"It's impossible!" Blair exclaimed breathlessly before sitting on the edge of her bed.
"There was someone here, I am sure of that." She said to herself and looked around one more time but just like a while ago, she saw nothing.
Blair is certain that it is not a hallucination. Whatever she is feeling is real. She is slowly starting to believe that ghosts are existing and one has its eyes in her because no rational thing can explain what's happening to her. She's not crazy nor an addict to feel things.
"Just don't scare me." Blair whispered before she stood to return in bathing. "My health insurance doesn't cover heart attack." She added before slamming her bathroom door.
The best thing she can do to lessen her fear is to make fun of the situation or else, she'll lose her mind but little did she know, someone in the dark laughed at her little joke.
