Destroyed buildings and multiple smokes from a distance, filthy surroundings, and empty streets with few scattered vehicles.
"The outside..." Yuji said, looking out through the gate.
"Be careful, it might be clear now, but we're not out of the woods yet," Yukina said as she stepped outside the gate, "by the way, I think those kind of clothes suit you, you look like some badass gangster or something," she said with a slight giggle.
"S...shut up," Yuji said, "what's the point of changing clothes in our situation anyway? it will just get filthy all over again,".
"I don't want to get stuck with a bad smelling person even for one whole day," Yukina said, "plus its actually not that hard finding clothes in a ruined city, you might actually find some clothes that can activate your fashion sense, and for free!" she said enthusiastically.
"So that's your way of having fun in this situation..." Yuji thought with a blank face.
"And also..." Yukina added, "isn't it just right to dress well before saying goodbye?" she said with a smile.
Yuji was silent for a moment.
"Does that mean... Your going to ditch me..." Yuji said with a shocked and afraid expression.
"What!? no! that's not what I meant!" Yukina said, "I meant to say goodbye to that girl, Elizabeth,".
"Now that you mention it..." Yuji said, "we're going outside, where is she?".
"Your not seriously going to bring a corpse until we get to city A, are you?" Yukina said, "were going to burry her here... in this city,".
"Where is she?" Yuji asked.
"Follow me," Yukina replied.
They both walked over the streets, as the silence filled the area, as if the chaos didn't happen recently.
"It's really quiet..." Yuji said.
"And if you want it to stay that way, then don't raise your voice too much," Yukina said, "I just cleared the area, but we'll never know when something will just pop up,".
"You cleared the area?" Yuji said being surprised.
"Just the path here to our destination, and a little area near it," Yukina said.
"You basically left me there by myself..." Yuji said.
"You did the same to me in the basement," Yukina said.
"You got a point..." Yuji said, realizing what he did, "what else did you do while I was asleep for half a day?".
"I prepared that..." Yukina said looking at the view in front of them.
"That's..." Yuji said, looking at what's left of a fallen building in front of them, and at the bottom of the fallen building was, a stone carved like a tombstone standing out from the debris around the area.
"Did you just... create a grave?" Yuji said.
"Maybe something like that..." Yukina replied, "now then..." she said, as she walked over to a small building beside the fallen structure, which didn't seem to be damaged.
"What's that," Yuji said following Yukina.
"It's a small store that sells clothes," she replied, "it didn't seem to be damaged by what happened in this city, awesome right? compared to the building in front and beside this store,".
"True..." Yuji agreed, "and the reason we're here is?"
"her..." Yukina said, as she opened the door beside, leading to the further inside of the small shop.
Yuji stopped as he felt multiple emotions go through him, Yuji opened his mouth as if he was about to talk, but no words would come out, "I... don't know what to say...".
"You don't have to say anything..." Yukina said as she approached the table in front of them, "she's... beautiful, isn't she?" she said pointing out to Elizabeth, whos body was lying on the table, wearing an all white dress, as if she was just sleeping,".
Yuji was speechless, with sign of relief and a smile on his face, along with sadness.
"We're going to send her off like this," Yukina said.
"Send her off... so we're burying her there am I right?" Yuji said.
"yeah, is there a problem?" Yukina said, "if you want something to remember her with, I put some of her items over there, by the other table,"
"An item to remember her with..." suddenly, Yuji had a strange sensation on his hand, as if he was about to reach his hand somewhere it's supposed to?"
"What are you doing?" Yukina asked, as Yuji's hand landed beside Yukinas hair, under Elizabeths ribbon.
"This... ribbon..." Yuji whispered.
"Oh, I forgot about that, it really suited her so I kept in on her," Yukina said, "are you going to take it?"
Yuji nodded, then slowly and carefully took off Elizabeths hair ribbon.
"then... shall we proceed?" Yukina said.
Yuji nodded.
Yukina walked over to the side of the table, where Elizabeth's head was, and placed her hands on the corners of the table.
"Come, this is a movable table, I forgot what these things are called," Yukina said as she started moving the table towards the door, "the wheels don't seem to be rusty too,".
Yuji stayed silent as he followed beside Yukina, as she takes Elizabeth to the what seemed to be a tombstone.
"You've been quiet for a while..." Yukina pointed out, "are you getting emotional or something?" she said in a teasing tone, "ah, but that's not a bad thing though,".
"No, it's just..." Yuji said, "It's about... a weird feeling earlier..."
"hmm," Yukina hummed in a questioning tone, "did you dream about her or something?".
"Well... something like that..." Yuji said, as if he was confused himself.
Yukina stared at Yuji for a moment.
"What?" Yuji asked, noticing her stare.
"Nothing... you two must be really close," Yukina said.
Yuji let out a little giggle, "actually, that's the funny thing... we're not,".
"Huh?" Yukina said in confusion.
"We're just strangers... who happened to save each other multiple times..." Yuji said, " I only met her, the morning of yesterday's incident,".
"I...I see," Yukina replied, " I guess that's normal... to be attached to someone who saved your life...".
"I guess that means it's normal for me to be attached to you right?" Yuji said.
"Eh?" Yukina said in confusion.
"You know..." Yuji said as he stopped walking, as Yukina stopped to listen, "I'm... really grateful to you," he said with a serious face looking directly at Yukina, " for saving me, and even for doing this... it's just so much..." he said smiling a little.
"I did this because I wanted to, and I saved you because it's my obligation to," Yukina said as she looked away, "remember? I want to meet and know Erina, I wanted to leave a good impression on her, so I...".
"Even so..." Yuji said, interrupting Yukina, "I'm still grateful, and if you want, why not let me introduce you to her,".
"Y... you'll do that!?" Yukina said with excitement.
"of course, why not?" Yuji said.
Yukina expressed her excitement, then suddenly held back her emotions, as she felt being overboard.
cough* cough* Yukina let out a fake cough, "anyways, let's begin the burial,".
Yuji looked around, "now that you mention it, where's the shovel?" he asked.
"There's no need for a shovel," Yukina said as she lifts her arm, then a long rectangular metal plate arised from the dirt.
The dirt on top of the metal plate was placed on the side of the pit along with the plate.
"You prepared this in advance..." Yuji said, being surprised.
"it wasn't that much of a work, I just did this because I wanted to..." Yukina said.
"You even tried to make this stone look like a proper rectangle," Yuji pointed out.
"W...what makes you say that?" Yukina said, "the stone just looked like that from the beginning, that's why I picked it up,".
Yukina took a close look at the surroundings to find a certain metal tool, "there!" she thought, as she sees the tool a little distant behind Yuji, she suddenly moved the the tool to be hidden out of plian sight.
"Huh? what was that!?" Yuji said quickly reacting to the noise.
"Eh!?" Yukina said being surprised, "w...what noise?".
"I thought I heard something from somewhere near," Yuji said as he looked around, "but I don't see anything... maybe... nevermind...".
"This guy..." Yukina thought, "I can see how he could survive for so long even without an ability or a class... if what his saying is true, that is,".
"Anyways, let's just continue..." Yukina said, "It's not that deep, like a proper grave, but I think this should be enough,".
Yuji nodded, as he gets close to Elizabeth, "here we go..." Yuji picks up Elizabeths body and hopped inside the pit, then he gently put her body on the metal plate by the ground.
Yuji took a little moment to look at her before he leaves.
"You got anything you want to say?" Yukina asked.
"I believe we already said our partings, right before she died," Yuji replied.
"I see,"
Yuji took a look at Yukina and noticed a small scratch on her hand.
"Oh, this?" she said as she lifted her right hand, "this is from earlier, on that little shop, the lights were off and it was dark, and I tripped on a few things trying to find the light switch,"
"Isn't that being careless!?" Yuji said.
"I already cleared the room, I could see if there's an akuma since the room was plain and open, I just didnt see what was on the floor, I'm actually lucky that I only got this..."
"yeah..." Yuji said with a suspicious face.
Suddenly, Yuji recalled something.
"Hey Yukina,"
"what..." Yukina asked.
"Show me your hand," he said.
"Huh? why?" she asked, as she shows her hand.
Yuji suddenly held her hand.
"Huh?" Yukina reacted, with a slight blush on her face, "hey what are you..."
Suddenly, Yuji's hand began to glow, as the luminous blue light covered the top of her hand.
"Wha... I thought you didn't have an..." Yukina said, as she stopped due to a realization, "hey... what was that girl's... Elizabeth's ability again?".
"Healing... her power was healing!" Yuji said, as he removed his hand from Yukinas, and sees the scratches gone from her hand.
"No way... your not joking are you?" Yukina said in surprise, as he sees Yuji smiling brightly on his hand.
"you know what? I actually have something to say to her, before we leave..."
"Go ahead," Yukina said softly, still being shocked from what happened.
"Elizabeth... thank you!".
