Chapter 25 - Break In & Stake Out II

Akira was in the midst of pondering what to do when his phone started to vibrate. He was receiving an incoming call. He was on the cusp of opting out to answer when he viewed the number. It was Lesley.

He quickly connected his phone to the com-device he placed in his ear, and tucked it back in his coat pocket.

"Found it yet?" Lesley's voice rang through.

"I have bigger problems right now," Akira sighed, pressing his body against the door, and listening to the footsteps made by the son. Once he entered his room, Akira intended to flee downstairs and find a way out. He had seen a window by the kitchen on his way in that wasn't too teched out, but was in such an open space that he though it was a bit suspicious. But he had no choice now, he would have to use it to get out, whether it was a trap or not.

"Hm? Like?" Lesley inquired.

"The son," Akira started, turning the door knob slightly as soon as he heard the son's room door slam shut. "He's here."

"Shoda's son is in the house?" Lesley asked, finally showing a hint of concern in his voice.

"Yes," Akira whispered, a hint of annoyance in his tone. He hated it when he got false information. "He's not with his mother, he's staying here."

Rushing down the hall and towards the stairs, he made sure to make as light a step as possible. Once he reached the edge, and start of the stair railings, he jumped onto the slanted railing and slid down the stairs that traveled in a straight line. When he got to the end he hopped off. He avoided and hid from the maids and guards that passed by, but most of the house was still and quiet.

He hoped he wouldn't have to engage in a fight because he had left his gun, the silver wisp back at his apartment. After what happened last time, he needed to stay even less conspicuous and couldn't draw any attention to him. He thought not bringing his gun ensured not getting involved in a fight. But that proved to be the wrong call when the alarms started blazing.

Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!

He was sure he hadn't tripped over any sensors, and hadn't come into view on any of the cameras, as he only traveled within the blind spots, but yet he was in this bind. Guards came rushing in from ever angle, and the maids that hurried out first gasped as the saw him. He was cornered by the massive living room. Now that it had come to this, he could no longer avoid getting into a fight.

He grabbed the arm of the first guard that rushed at him with a medium sized metal bat, and a taser gun. Disarming the bat from his hand and flipping him over his shoulder and onto other incoming guards that were flooding into the room, he managed to swipe his taser and aimed for the next guard that approached him.

He grabbed the bat of another guard and fended off five that came after him, then tossed the bat at one that attempted to sneak up on him from behind. A loud thud sound was made as the bat smacked his head and he fell to the ground. Now creating an opening, he darted past the rushing guards and heading back up the stairs, since the way to the kitchen had been blocked off.

Time seemed to slow down as he used his flames to accelerate and flew past the boy standing on the steps. He avoided collision with him by jumping to the side, giving off the impression that he actually flew past him and onto the top of the staircase.

Once time quickened again, the boy glanced behind him at the intruder that had just zipped by, as numerous guards followed behind. Akira was in too much of a hurry to glance behind him, as he didn't even remember the face of the boy he had just past, and wasn't sure if he had even glanced at his face at all, but kept his pace.

He docked into the open room that the boy had left open in all the commotion and slid out the window. He didn't bother hopping onto the tree that seemed farther away than it was from before. He cushioned his descent with a burst of flames causing the grass below to shrivel up with the heat, leaving an area of burnt patch. He had just jumped from the third floor of this mansion, but didn't sustain any injuries. The guards that were around, and the ones that were by the window he had just jumped out of froze in shock.

"What are you doing?!" The voice of the man who seemed in charge of the rest of the guards called out from his position behind the throng of black suited men. "Get that bastard now!"

They had encircled him. The section of the wall he had climbed to get in was still a bit far away. His choice became limited to beating all the guards and escaping. He found it quite a hassle and a bit crude, but what could he do? Oliver was sure to give him a lecture, and no doubt Lesley would not hold back his ridicule, even though this would all technically be his fault.

With a small sigh, he dug into the right side of his inner coat pocket and brought out a weapon he hadn't used in quite sometime. The chained dagger that he had originally been using when he first started out as an agent of Halo. A weapon that was dubbed "The reaper's chain" by the other agents who faced against him.

"Get him!"

He activated his innate and let the fire compliment the chains of his dagger, as each section lit up in beautiful blue flames. The weapon that now burned blue became even more intimidating. It didn't take much effort for one swing of his dagger to successfully cut all the guards at the for front that charged him. He swung again, this time letting it circle the arm of the next guard to him, drawing him closer he disarmed him and then kicked him onto another guard. With every swing he was either blocking, disarming, flipping, or cutting a guard. Once the encirclement broke and the bodies that surrounded him became bodies that were groaning in pain as they rolled on the ground, he dashed towards the wall.

With only a few steps more, a stone statue he had seen at the entrance of the mansion came hurling at him. 'What the-' Before he could finish that thought, a car door came next. He managed to dodge both but glanced up in shock. There were two individuals floating in the air above him, and one carrying another car door, ready to toss it stood a few meters away from him.

'Holders' He whispered silently, as he glared at them through the eye holes in the skull mask he wore.

"Where do you think you're going?"
