Chase was walking down gloomy, mystifying staircases. They spiraled down and down, like a bottomless pit. He started to wonder if there was actually something at the bottom. If there was a bottom. Chase was a young boy who loved reading fantasy books. Every day, he would come home from school just to be able to read his novels. He wished that his favorite book would become his reality.
He dreamed of becoming a writer himself and had already started writing ideas for stories he could make. His favorite book was The Mythical Secrets By Steve John.
One day, he went jogging around his street. He had just made it around the corner when a shiny object caught his eye. It looked like a rectangular box that was covered with something that was yellow but was also very shiny. As he slowly approached the box with carefulness but also curiosity, he realized that the yellow substance was actually gold! Every single part of the cover was covered with shiny, valuable gold. He slowly wrapped his hands around the box. It was surprisingly cold despite the hot sun. In fact, it was so strange that he almost dropped the box back. But then he remembered, this was his chance to finally be like the main character in this favorite book.
After a lot of thinking, he decided to bring the box back home. His house was just a modern house. It had 3 floors including the basement. It was a really nice place to live in, had a lot of space and could provide for 5 people. Once he entered his room, he opened the box. He was expecting to see gold, diamonds, or other precious, valuable materials. But instead of all that, he got a dusty book. It had no writing on the cover. He blew all the dust off then opened the book to the first page. It read, "Thou who reads this and does not finish the quest shall forever be trapped between reality and fantasy." He closed the book and then laughed at the ridiculous sentence, not knowing that this sentence just changed his life forever.
