Ouyang Xueqing obediently trudged forward.
The closer they were, the clearer she could see his countenance. With one hand cupping his chin, he stretched the other to her. His palm waiting. As he sat there amidst the darkness with only a hint of light seeping through the heavy curtain, she felt her mind grow blank and the only thing she could see was him.
Bewitched, she put her palm onto his only for him to pull her forward abruptly.
She let her body lunge forward and he caught her instantly, bringing her into his embrace as she sat on his lap. The man's arms circled around her waist and his chin topping her shoulder. Then, he let out a heavy sigh.
Ouyang Xueqing could only see the top of his head, thus grew more worried. "Master, are you really okay?"
"Okay," came his muffled voice. "Nothing's wrong. Master just…kind of miss you."
