She still wanted to pull her hand away but he grasped it firmly, keeping her in place.
"Yu Jianโ"
"Sssh." He murmured. "Don't be scared. Relax." He used his other hand to pat her head and ran his finger through her hair. Soothingly, softly, the familiar gesture soon made her nerves loosened, and only then did she realize how tense her whole body was.
"It's okay, Qing'er. Even if you hurt me, it's okay. You can just nurse me back to health."
She glared at him which he returned with a grin.
Upon growing up, he had never laughed out loud, shrieked nor yelled like he did when they first met anymore. He had become calmer, steadier and more mature. Even if he smiled, there was an air of elegance and composure in each of them, that's why, seeing him grin widely with his eyes twinkled in tease, she felt like she was being thrown back to how it was a year ago.
"You are teasing me!" She huffed and puffed.
