Another day came but nothing changed. Baek got off his bike at the school parking lot and turned to make his way towards the building. Hands still cut up with dried blood on them. He looked like he was the most dangerous man on this planet. The only thing making him look like a student was his dirty uniform.
Grace was running late today, usually being one of the first students to arrive for classes. The first sight that greeted her was of her Baek oppa. It instantly brought a smile on her face, which was soon replaced by a worried frown. Her favorite oppa looked like death ran over him. Without giving it another thought, the sweet girl ran up to him and took hold of his hand, sending electric shocks through both their systems.
Baek was shocked to see the sweet girl who had successfully stolen his heart and he felt bad at that moment seeing the excessive worry on her face. But at the same time a small selfish part of him was happy to be the centre of her attention. The fact that she cared enough and him being in pain made her sad was something that brought joy to Baek.
"Oppa! What happened to you? Who did this?? Are you okay? Are you in pain? Oppa....."
Quietly chuckling at her behaviour he cupped her face in his giant hands with at most softness and gentleness, he said, "No my Grace, no one did this to me. I am totally okay, relax. Let's get you to class okay?"
"Ahhh!!! Oppa, we can't go like this. Look at you, there's so much blood. Come on we have to clean this okay? Then classes."
The older boy, in complete awe of this young girl managed to get swayed into following her to the nurse's office. As the nurse was not in yet Grace being the concerned friend decided to take matters into her own hands.
As she moved around the room, collecting necessary items for Baek's treatment, all he could do was stare at her in adoration. He had forgotten what it felt like to be taken care off of. What it felt like when someone caressed him with at most love. Grace brought it all back for him in the most serene way possible.
"Oppa please give me your hand," she asked him politely.
"Here," he placed his hands in hers without a thought.
Her touch as soft as spring breeze, she began to clean his wounds and apply cream and bandages to them. With every touch of hers on him, his heartbeat sped and the sense of love grew inside of him.
"And done! See oppa now I've fixed you!"
He gave her a soft smile and ruffled her hair a bit, making her give him an adorable pout.
'Cute!' he thought to himself.
Wanting to see her beautiful blush one more time before spending unnecessary hours in closed quarter's with annoying kids, he brought her closer to him and whispered a thank you in her ears. Making sure to brush the shell of her ear.
The desired effect took place immediately and the young girl blushed profusely. For Baek this was a sight to behold close to his heart.
The pair then left the nurse's room and headed towards their classes. Much to the disappointment of Grace the first bell had already rung and there was no way they could join the lesson mid way. Baek on the other hand was ecstatic, he would get more time with her and that was all that mattered to him
"Oppa, the bell went off. Now what will we do?? The teachers will scold me and my parents too. Aaahhh!!! This is so bad." she said, small tears shining in her doe eyes.
Baek's heart instantly softened at the innocent girl's panic and he came up with an idea to cheer her up for the rest of the day.
"Okay just come with me and act like you are not feeling well okay? Just act like you fainted." he said to the young girl who listened to his every word with absolute attention.
"Yes. I will." she promised.
The two then headed over to the school's main office and proceeded to speak with the desk clerk.
Miss Kim was a sweet older lady who knew about Baek's parents and often gave him a pass when he came late or got into any troubles.
"Miss Kim??" he asked at the desk and almost immediately she came out from the back. She was wearing a nice floral dress, her black and white hair up in a bun and a sweet motherly smile on her face.
"Yes child, what is it??"
"Miss Kim, my friend here is sick, she fainted on the way to class. Can you give her the pass for today? And please don't call her parents, they will get mad at her. I promise to get her home safe." he said with such authority and conviction that the old lady couldn't not believe.
"Okay fine. But just this one time okay? You both better not do this again or I will call her parents. Especially you Baek, I want a better attendance from you in your last year okay?" the old lady spoke in a stern yet gentle tone.
"Yes Miss Kim, we promise." they both said and went out of the office.
Baek suddenly got a mischievous idea and without warning picked Grace up bridal style. The poor girl instantly got flustered and her face flushed.
"O-oppa? W-whhat are you doing?" she stuttered.....
"Well we said you fainted right? Need to put on a convincing show right?" he said with a cheeky smile on his face.
"I guess..." she meekly replied and hid her face in the crook of his neck.
What the both didn't know was that Miss Kim also saw the two lovebirds and had a wonderful smile of her own. She approved of them and prayed that they forever be together before she walked back in.
