Jada walked into the kitchen with the young girl on her heels. They walked in to see her second hot at the stove making pasta for them.
When they settled down and Lucas placed the food in front of them, Jada turned to ask the girl her name.
"What is your name? "
"Shay, " the girl replied taking a spoon of the pasta into her mouth.
Jada watched the girl eat her food like she hadn't eaten in days, and with a closer look at the girl, she looked so gangly, her clothes hanging off her slender bony shoulders.
"What is yours? " The girl asked with food in her mouth.
"Ew, young lady, finish your bite before you talk, " Lucas scolded gently taking a seat opposite the girl. He too had noticed how wasted the girl looked, must be the drugs he surmised taking a bite of his own food.
The girl stuck out her tongue at him before looking in the older woman's direction waiting for her to answer her question.
Jada smiled at the girl's cheekiness.
