Reaching back home, Aiden walked her to her room.
"Good night then..", he said with a smile.
"G' night", Adina replied with a shy smile, her cheeks pink with the amount of blood rushing rapidly to her face.
Seeing her like this, only made Aiden smile more widely. He closed the gap between them and gave her a forehead kiss saying,"Get used to it now."
She looked up with her big glowing eyes and said,"It might take a while but I'll get used to this new you. Also, I like this better."
"Me too." They both smiled endearingly then Aiden left to his room.
'He really is a sweetheart to those who he love.' The thought made Adina smile. She chuckled shaking her head side to side and was about to open the door to her room when Ian peaked out of his door saying,"Sorry for eavesdropping. Couldn't help. Soooo....", in a very dramatic tone, wriggling his eyebrows.
She narrowed her eyes at him and said,"You knew everything you little piece of-"
"Yes, yes I knew. No need to start swearing", he waved his hand dismissing her words, coming out of his room.
"Why didn't you tell me anything. At least you could've given me a hint."
"But then tell me how could've this been a surprise?"
"I-"
"See, I knew you'll understand. Now tell me, how did it go?" then after a second thought, added," No wait. Let's sit and talk. Then you can tell me all that happened." He winked at her to which she blushed. He took her by her hand and went in her room.
They talked for an hour or so before calling it a day and retiring to their respective beds. The next few days went well but after a time again Aiden's possessiveness started coming in the way though she tried her very best to help him with it. He had already warned her what she would be getting herself into and she had accepted the challenge so here she was placating her boyfriend, trying to calm his nerves, reassure him that she is only his that he's different to her.
After resolving the issue she went to spend some time in the library. As she sat on her spot at the windowsill, a sigh left her lips. She looked out the window, wondering what Krystal was doing. She missed her best friend a lot, especially at these times. She wanted to talk to her, to tell her everything. She imagined Krystal screaming and jumping at the news of her boyfriend that is no other than the Aiden Simmons. She giggled at the beautiful scenerio made up in her head but she knew it was hardly possible to happen, at least not any time soon. She sighed yet again and continued staring out the window.
"Did I disturb you?" The sudden voice startled her and she sat up straight but when she saw it was Ian, she slouched against the wall again.
"No, not really. I was just spacing out. Anyways, come sit", she beckoned him to sit opposite her then said,"What brings you here?"
"I saw you coming here so I followed you. You seem down. Did something happen again?" He asked sitting opposite her.
She sighed before shaking her head as no with a small smile on her face, "Nothing for you to be worried about. I handled it."
"Oh good! I knew you were the best for that dumb brother of mine." He rolled his eyes in exasperation making Adina chuckle which in turn made him smile. Ian didn't want her to loose that beautiful smile of hers so he was ready to do every possible thing. He was determined on helping both of them to lead a happy life. "Remember if you ever need my help in any way, just tell me okay?" She nodded in reply with a smile on her face.
For a while, they talked about pointless things and laughed at each other's silly remarks. "Its about time I should tell you a few things about vampires and their mates...", he said in a mildly serious tone when the mood was light.
"Go ahead", Adina encouraged.
"You remember when you asked me about the mating process and I skipped it because it didn't concern you at that time", she nodded remembering the talk she had with him,"It happens when a vampire starts feeding on their mate..."
"Oh .. as in ... you mean..." she didn't complete her sentence but Ian understood anyway.
"Yes, that's exactly what I mean. Once a vampire fed on the mate they've chosen they can't bare to not drink their blood for a long while. That's the reason they die after their mate's death. The longest a vampire has gone without their mate's blood was a week, an agonizing week. Others die within 56 hours or so. That's why before mating you've to think everything through."
She understood where this talk was going and said,"I'll keep it in mind."
Both smiled at each other and made some small talk but soon got interrupted by Aiden. He stopped in his tracks watching the two sitting together on the windowsill facing each other. Adina hurriedly jumped off her place and went towards Aiden with Ian following suit. He took deep breaths then said,"Well, if you don't mind, I want to take you on a date as an apology", guilt ridden in his eyes and words.
Adina teased saying,"Of course you should. I deserve it." She acted as though she was flipping her hair even though it was tied in a loose bun on top of her head. Aiden and Ian both chuckled at her actions. "So, when are we leaving?",she asked with a hint of excitement in her eyes as well as her tone.
"In an hour?"
"Perfect. I'll meet you outside then." She grinned and pushed him out of the library telling him to dress up well because she was gonna look drop dead gorgeous. Ian followed her to her room. "I am excited. This is my first date with him."
"Second...", Ian corrected her laughing.
"Not actually... also he wasn't my boyfriend while we were on that date... not for the first half at least", she said the last part after some thinking, making Ian laugh again. "Anyways, you were the one to take me to that place but then your brother swept me off my feet... not literally", she added those words so that Ian won't tease her.
Ian chuckled saying,"Yeah, yeah, my bad luck. I get it princess. Go get ready now or else.... I reckon you don't wanna be late for your prince charming."
She blushed and hit his arm."Yaaahh!! Shut up."
Ian laughed heartily. "Tell Aiden I'll be gone for hunt today." Then he walked off waving his hand in the air.
Adina smiled opening the door to her room. Even though she didn't have Krystal with her she was more than glad to have Ian. Whenever she was feeling down he was there to cheer her up. She had some trouble, he would solve it for her. She wanted someone to rely on, he was there. She wanted a friend, without a doubt, Ian was always there.
She got ready in a grey satin dress which reached just below her knees. Her hair was made in half bun- half open style. She wore silver danglers which matched her dress and matching heels. On the other hand Aiden was wearing purple shirt and dark grey jeans. No matter what he wore the most beautiful thing about him is his eyes. Those vibrant green orbs of his, which is the rarest of eye colours and it would stand out in a crowd like a beautiful piece of art.
They enjoyed their date but the most fun part was when it unexpectedly started raining. She danced in the rain and pulled Aiden with her, though he just stood and admired her girlfriend with a broad smile etched on his lips. The winter was soon approaching and the rain was total surprise. Aiden knew she would get unwell sooner or later but still he couldn't say not to her, not after seeing her happy, smiling and dancing like that. So he let her be carefree, he would handle whatever will happen later but for now he was not gonna say no to the fun and memories that he'll cherish for life.
