"Where there is love, there is life." ~ Mahatma Ghandi

Spreading sunrise, blueing glow, clouds tinted, colours spread across the sky announcing the new day, oranges and reds painted across the clouds as if by a celestial hand. It's 7 o' clock. James fluttered and rolled his eyes opened from the incessant honking of the alarm. And there, they had cuddled in bed like there's no tomorrow. Their cuddles felt like a little touch of heaven, warm, together, cozy. Mona wish she could have extended the day just so that she could stay close to him for longer, and feel the warmth of his heartbeat and stay safe in his embrace. Her arms, tightly wrapped right around him, had brought the electric nerves in her body so much calmness, peace she had never known before, a calming of the storms in her heart.

Yeah, of course, it was him that gave her hope for the future, and relaxes every elastic in her stretching core. In her embrace, he was the only medicine that she needed to cure every wound that she had experienced over those two cold years, he was the light in her darkness, a lone star in an otherwise empty sky. She believed that there was nothing out there to fear, nothing out there to worry about, absolutely, nothing there to separate them both now that she's in his arms, all that was there, was sunshine, beautiful roses and kind people - family to be with.

But then, James had been a workaholic since age 15, and managed to build for himself his own business empire, called Jackson's Paradise. A multi-million dollar telco company that operates in few African countries around the globe, with its head office in Liberia and branches in South Africa, Gabon, and blah blah.

He usually woken up at 5:30 AM, exercised by 6:00 AM, binge and eat between the hours, and off to work at 7:00 AM prompt. James nudged his head and there was Mona still in bed snoring and holding onto him so close like a magnetic field, he flinched his body out of her grasp and tossed out of the super king-size bed watching the devil herself in lala land. Really, he knew that he had sex with his uncles' wife last night, but how? Damn. What the fuck went wrong?! How the hell did that happened?

Ugh?

James never loved Mona, not once, I meant to say he was kind of sexually attracted to her, and had two nights of amazing sex with her, but love?

Phew! Nah.

After his first heartbreak with Susana, he drank the alcohol, trifled with, and shagged dozens of girls, but never did he love any. Fast forward to three years earlier, one refreshing morning, Susana for the first time had visited Jackson's Paradise to pickup merchandise for her father's company. When she entered in the elevator wriggling up to the office building, there she met with famous James Jackson. His aesthetic gait in the elevator was at odds with the debonaire white Italian suit he wore. As usual, there was so much elegance and class to it that was quite superb for his early morning business meeting. She intentionally tipped his black Italian shoes to gripe onto his attention. "Oh, my bad, I'm so sorry. Su-Susana Welshman."

And when she had opened her mouth, it was filled with Zimbabwean accent and the hand she offered to shake was manicured to perfection, the skin softer than a baby's hand. Her face was one of upmost confidence, whatever games she had played, she knew she wasn't accustomed to loosing. He smiled like a long lost brother and shook Susana's hand warmly with the perfect squeeze and eye contact. "You really didn't need to budge on my shoes. James. James Jackson."

He reciprocated, and let go of her baby's hand with a stare at the same time on his 6 million gold watch. "Uhm, I'm really sorry, and sorry to disturb, but I'm here to pick up some merchandise and I'll be looking out for Philip Caulker."

Susana clearly pointed out. Her voice sounded as calm and soft as the waters, and her gaze pouted with a charming smile. She had beautiful brows and blue colored eyes, her dimples were very cute, and had an average height of around 5ft 3 in, and, should be two or three years older than James, 30 something I think. Apparently, she wasn't so cute and all that, but her sophisticated appearance had caught the sapphire eyes of the man before her. "Oh, he works as my PA. Is there anything that I need to help you with?" He muttered and furrowed his eye lids, and tucked his hands away from his pocket.

"Yes please. I'm from W & W Media Group and here to meet with him. You said he works for you, is that Jackson's Paradise?"

"Yeah. And I'm heading up to my office. I really didn't get the last name?"

She laughed. "And that makes the two of us. Susana Welshman."

"James Jackson, just to reiterate. Ho, you're Mr. Welshman's daughter?" He purred and paused. "Your father didn't tell me he had a daughter, and your visit came as a surprise."

"Yeah, unfortunately he couldn't be here due to another urgent business meeting he had to attend in the Philippines. I arrived yesterday and it was late, so I couldn't give your office a call. But anyway, I'm here now, and took you by surprise. Honestly, I never expected to see a young CEO. Nice to meet you." She beamed and curved her lips.

"Same here, Susana. Philip will hand you all of the materials needed and provide you with further details. Do you have a vehicle?"

"Sure. Luckily I borrowed one."

"You shouldn't have. But this way please."

He led the way into Philip's office after he had pressed his thumb against a small glass panel and a sensor read his fingerprints, verified them, and activated the door opened. The doors slid opened and the elevator had stopped to the tenth floor without stopping. Nobody else entered or used it, nor did it ever stop at any of the other floors in the building. There they exchanged numbers and later dated, and less than two months into their relationship, she left him due to James's arrogance, moved back to her country and dumped him for another guy.

Throughout his shower, he had been overthinking about everything else that happened. The worry thoughts looped around in his mind until there was no room for anything else. His company is trending down the pit and has losses of major investments up to twenty-two million dollars that the media is not yet aware of, or at least an outsider, and he would have to do everything possible he can do to safe his precious jewelry. And then, he thought to himself about the situation surrounding Mona and him. "How did that happen? How? If my uncle or anyone else's in the family realize that Mona is part of my past and I had sex with her, it will be a huge disaster, a real big trouble, especially with my uncle. But why if Mona tells them? Or do something stupid? No, I don't think so, I don't think she will do something so stupid like that."

James budged out of the bathroom and brushed through the strands of his wet hair with his bath tower, and when he nodded his head, he had gawked at Mona eyes narrowly opened on the bed. She had light beams that curved her lips, and her face pouted as if all of the stress in the world faded away. She was so much calm and relaxed, half way covered with the white bed sheets. Really, she was excited that all of the cravings she had yearned for two years had come to actuality. Just what she wanted. "Good morning King. How was your night?"

His jaws clenched, and look pouted pale, as he gawked at her still on the bed. He kept quiet and walked over to his hair dresser applying lotions and other bodily substances to his curled hair and skin, and then he moved over to his wardrobe picking several outfits. He had picked a navy blue French suit and the other, an Italian brown crisp suit. He held the two in his claws and gaped at them determined to pick the best option for the occasion.

That was when Mona interrupted him with a selection of her choice. So full of herself.

"Why not wear that? I think the brown color would be a great pick! That will perfectly suit you for today's occasion."

She tossed out of the bed and walked over to James attempting to wrap her arms around his torso. He clenched onto her hands and viciously jabbed her hands off his muscular body with gritted teeth and furrowing brows.

"I didn't in no way seek your opinion. If I wanted to, I would have requested aunt. And, don't you have anything else to do or to think about? Why don't you get out of here right this minute?" James gasped.

The sudden snigger on her face had

disappeared and the stares in those hazel eyes was now in dismay. Harriet, James's beloved stepmom, had rocked the doors and entered into the room and nearly caught the devil herself, but luckily, James had quickly instructed Mona to hid herself on the balcony.

"M-Mom. Good morning."

"Good morning James. You got up late this morning. Are you feeling sick or something?"

"No Mom, I'm perfectly fine. Just a bit worried about the company." James frowned and moved his mother to the double brown doors.

"Ho, my dear, you don't need to worry at all. I believe in you, and I know that you'll handle it. Breakfast is ready, and you will need to eat before the food gets cold."

"I will be with you in a minute." She titled her head and left the room. James turned towards Mona who had walked out of hiding, and as she tried to utter another word, James abruptly interrupts and pointed her to the doors.

"Quiet!"

She didn't speak a word but had left the room with a terrified look. Unfortunately, James didn't wear what Mona had mentioned, he wore the French navy blue suit and pranced out of the room. The moment he had reached down the stairs, James was greeted by one of his staffs with a pile of flowers, and the flowers had come from Susana with a message which reads:

"Valentine, I should move heaven and earth for you. Lots of love. Susana."

Huh?

James eyes narrowed, and was rigid, cold, and hard. His heart exploded and the veins on his forehead enlarged. "Throw that rubbish away!" He roared and ordered, as he slid into his chair on the dinning table. The rest of the family members were on the table and Mona had just walked in. There were enormous platter of food. Eggs, ham, mushrooms, salad, vegetables, piles of fried potatoes, and fried plantain. A tureen of fruit sits in ice to keep it chilled, and there's a large glass of orange juice in the mug that sat in the middle of the table.

"You received a gift. So why throw it to the garbage?" Older Jackson supposedly interrogated with his usual loud voice. He gripped the glass of orange juice in his right hand and sipped onto the substance. Mona exchanged gazes and took her seat adjacent James, opposite James's aunt and cousin, Naomi and Joel.

"I'm liable to accept or reject any gift sent to me. And I just refused one of them. You're not going to tell me what to do, Mr. Jackson!"

James shrugged. With all of the horrible things Older Jackson did, James and his father never got along since the death of his mother, and, hated him for his difficult childhood too.

So, there was always a quarrel one way or the other between the both of them, besides, the guy was still an asshole, that apparently showed no signs of alterations.

"I have talked with Mr. Welshman and he's willing to invest in the business with the condition that you marry Susana."

Older Jackson uttered in a stern tone.

Wait. Huh?

Did he just say marry Susana?

Damn. Now tangled by two exes, James seems to be drenched into the pit!
