Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

"With me?" I asked bewildered. I barely knew them yet, I felt strongly connected in some way. A part of me said to trust them while the other part merely said to run and never stop. When I get out that is.

"Yes. They cannot treat you like this. We think you should join us. Your not meant to be a rogue and we know it. Especially after hearing your story." Drake said quietly. He was eyeing the door in case it opened and a gaurd caught what we were talking about.

My eyes slightly widened in the dark. Would I actually be able to escape with them? I barely have met them, yet Drake....how do I explain this? He's sweet and honest, somehow he's been through my pain of rejection and neglect.

But is it actually wise to do this? They could get themselves killed. Or worse, beyond torture. I had been in one of those predicaments before. Not fun. And it's not a joking matter either.

"Anna, we want- no need you to come with us. We can see your flaming soul that wants to run free." A small smile planted itself on Drakes face. "And the only way to achieve that is to do it."

He was right. Ever since I had been kicked out, I had been free. And now, since I'm chained up all the time, I feel....well, chained. I want to be free. Rid of the itchy feeling of being owned. I pondered it. Thought about the consequences that would happen if we did. The Alpha was lenient with me earlier or....whenever I was last awake. I don't know anymore! Or care for that matter!

"All we have to do is get away from here and escape successfully from your mate." He added.

My breath caught in my throat. Mate. Mate. "Oh that asshole!" I yelled with rage making everyone jump in suprise in the small, smelling room. I flinched slightly when the silver from the chains burned more of my skin, warning me to be still.

"Oh imma gonna kill him." I muttered while thinking of ways to slowly kill him and his tiny little alpha and his large juicy muscles...wait..what? My eyebrows went up with confusion at the thought. Okay that totally wasn't weird.

"One easy way to get away but it may be harder is for you to reject him, Anna. But...one problem..." Drake sighed. I noticed that the gaurds had repositioned them all to where they were now chained by their necks to the walls. Maybe to not kill them... Drake ran his hand through his hair roughly. "You need to find out his name. And that's a toughy. Hardly anyone here knows his name, so yeah...." He drones on before sighing again and leaning his head against the wall.

"Hey, Drake....?" I ask softly. "What happened when that witch approached me? I remember you saying my heart beat stopped and I was bleeding from a small cut...." I asked hoping to get more information. Ever since this tattoo appeared, it's like it's one of my main arteries. Deadly being touched.

"Well....Cassandra? I think that's what her name was. Well, whatever, but, she approached you holding a long dagger knife in her hand coated with something that smelled horrible. It burned my nose and I was all the way over here. But, she came up and barely touched that one line that stands out from the rest with it and it automatically started pouring blood, like a main pipe was turned on. I could hear your heart stop beating after you passed out from not being able to breathe after screaming. The Alpha was furious and removed all your restraints taking you to the pack hospital I think. I heard that your heart started beating again when they done something. I don't know anything else. Maybe ask that witch the next time she shows her face." Drake told me and yawned. He began relaxing more into the bricked wall going to sleep. At least, that's what I think.

"Get some sleep, Anna. It's going to be a long day tomorrow." He muttered lazily. I wanted to laugh at his cuteness for a guy that was covered head to toe in muscles and a slight beard growing on his face.

I nodded and layed back as well flinching again when the silver rubbed harshly against my neck. I wasn't the least bit tired but I also knew that Drake was right. I shut my eyes and focused on the breathing around me. It was so unusual. I wasn't used to it at all. Being around others is what I mean.

I was always used to sleeping in a tree or making a small shelter and resting in it. I had a tent once. It became a burden so I disposed of it.

I thought back to the woods to calm me....maybe I might sleep...
