(Cole's P.O.V)
I stood lazily at my post for potral. I heard Penelope's voice behind me and looked towards it. She was talking to Natalie. Suddenly Natalie threw a punch at her causing me to jump but Penelope caught it last minute.
"Much better! See how much stronger that hit was?" Penelope said in a teasing tone. She told Natalie to go again and Natalie did not look happy. This obviously wasn't a joke to her but Penelope was just having a blast catching and dodging her punches while giving her suggestions as they went. Gosh, this girl is a tease. I started laughing aloud.
"Cole?" Dylan's voice interrupted me, "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, why?" I responded to him.
"It's just I haven't heard you laugh. Well except when you're around Penelope. I think she's influencing you in a healthy way."
I was just as shocked as him. I haven't laughed in years. It just wasn't something my father tolerated. And I hadn't had a reason to till now
"Look over there and listen carefully." I told him as I pointed towards Penelope and Natalie. We both watched as Penelope teased Natalie until we heard a rustling in the bushes. We turned our heads swiftly. The bushes started moving, making a loud rustling sound. I thought I heard growling and yelping. It sounded like two wolves fighting. But we don't turn into our wolf forms unless we have to.
I turned to Dylan to confirm my thoughts and he looked just as confused as I felt. Suddenly two wolves emerged from the bush. One a dark black and the other was solid white. They looked like rogues due to their thin bodies.
Dylan began to speak, "Should we intervene?"
"We could approach them. I mean they are on our territory so they should move and fight somewhere else." I responded, trying to be reasonable.
"But they look very aggressive." Dylan pointed out.
"True." I agreed, nodding my head.
Then as if they sensed us talking they slowly turned to look at us. I felt someone breathing over my shoulder. I turned and saw Penelope, with a mesmerised expression across her face. I turned my head back around when I heard one of the rogues growl.
"Oh my gosh! Get it, Cole! It's gonna hurt us!" Natalie's voice pierced my ears.
I rolled my eyes as I stood in a defense stance and transformed into my wolf form. I made my eyes glow to make me look intimidating. One of the rogues whimpered and ran away but the other stayed, standing firmly against me. I smirked at his arrogance. He bolted towards me and I reacted by charging towards him. We collided and dug our claws into each other. I rolled on top of him and asserted dominance. He whimpered in fear and wiggled from my grasp, running away into the words. Natalie ran to me and embraced me dramatically.
"Oh my gosh, Cole! You saved us!" She squealed. I just rolled my eyes at her seeking attention.
"Look! He has cuts on his side." Penny pointed out.
"I'm fine. It happens all the time." I reassured her.
"Yeah we'll just take him to the infirmary and he'll be fine. It's just some minor cuts." Dylan said.
We made our way to the main headquarters, where the infirmary is located. My cuts kinda stung but I didn't mind it that much. It was strange how quickly those rogues just ran away so quickly. It didn't take too long before we arrived at headquarters. We washed my cuts and wrapped them. Nothing really serious. I took a few
