Chapter 29 - Chapter 27

Ashlin awoke to familiar surrounding of a newly remembered life. She looked around for her son, sighing in relief upon noticing Lucan was also missing. Silver eyes look towards the long forgotten swords, prompt on the wall, in the shadows they glowwed unworldly. Stretching sleep from her body, she got ready for the day ahead. Ashlin had breakfast before leaving to venture through the Underworld. Her feet carried unawared mind to the cave destroy by Neil and the twins battle. It laid in rumble, dried blood was littered throughout the area causing a scene resembling a battlefield. Tears brimmed steel irises soon spilling; Ashlin had been through a lot since stepping into the Underworld. Her presence here was forbidden for good reason; a chaos child only calls to destruction, that's all it will ever attract.

There was a war brewing and she felt it, stagnant air and tense atmosphere; these were their warning signal but there wasn't something worth all, that blood, right? She tried to soothe an uneasy feeling, which has, been slowly creeping up on her with silent movements yet a freezing touch. Ashlin knew a battle was near, they had figured out this long ago yet what scared her was the presence of a different opponent. This one was beyond powerful and terrifying; it has existed before all, alongside father. Ashlin kept wondering how she can protect her family, she didn't know what she should do. Wondering feet took her to the river that stole her memories, standing on the shore tense muscle relax with each brush of chilled water. Looking out, into the distance, memories of guants roaming replayed in open skies. Ashlin pondered on the topic, why had they awaken after so long? Why so suddenly? They have been sealed for over a million years, then they awake without warning. It was, as though a light switch had flipped in her mind, with hurried steps she left to Layton's office where he was accompanied by Cleus, Lucan, Lycra and Cerrabus. They tyrned in sync, Lycra rran eagerly to his mother.

"He may bare all your looks but we know who's his favorite" Cleus laughed at Lucan's expense.

"Momma, I'm hungwy"the infant jumped into his mother's awaiting arms.

"You haven't eaten?" Lycra shook his head, "You're growing into a big boy, Lycra. You should eat when daddy and uncles offer you, okay?" The yound boy shook his head once more.

"Only mommy's food" he exclaimed with a joyful smile.

"Isn't it surprising how properly you can say food?" She pinched his cheeks teasingly causing Lycra to giggle.

"Must have taken after his mother" Cleus fake coughed when she glare at him, "What? I didn't say anything" he put his arms up in surrender.

She gave him a deathly glare before turning to her son, "what can I make for you to eat, sir?" Lycra leaned in close whispering to which she nodded in agreement, "Okay, let's go".

Lucan and Cleus got up, "Are you coming?" Cleus turned to Layton, who smiled mischievously.

"Of course, I won't miss this" he glanced at his twin, whose eyes were glued in Ashlin's direction.

Ashlin made french toast and oatmealwith the help of Lycra and Cleus, though they mostly made a mess. She was happy with the joyous atmosphere; it felt as though thry were finally home. Lycra belonged here, it was obvious from how joy he is. In the tribe, he inly left her side when Star persuaded him yet here, he leaves her side freely and without a fuss. Ashlin almost cried realizing how much he has grown. Layton's amusement came from Lucan, whose unwavering sights were set on his woman and child.

"Do you think if you take your eyez off, of them..... they'll disappear?" Layton voiced his thoughts.

"No, I'm afraid one day, I'll blink and she'll disappear" Layton sighed understanding his internal dilemma.

"Yeah, I understand that feeling" he ran strong fingers through midnight hair, "Even though we got her back...... it feels more like a visit than her staying" he tried to place his emotions into thoughts.

"Mmhm, I know she won't separate us from Lycra.... but she's always carrying the heights burden. It bores into her skin and piercing bones yet leaving them whole. Her path is polluted with blood and it's al her own; enough metallic red to fill a river but look at her....... you'll always see her smiling. She will always say, 'It doesn't hurt, I'm accustom to the pain by now, I'm okay or everything's fine. She's always struggling with unbearable burdens and colossal obstacles yet she never ask for help.... she too strong for her own, good" Lucan spoke, hurt.

"Don't worry we wont lose her again" Lucan tapped his brother's back assuring him.

"Yeah, I hope she'll let us" he sighed walking over to his son, covered in powder milk and spice powder.

Cerrabus looked on silent, she had only witness the twins suffer such depression, once before, Ashlin's disappearance. It was after the holy war ended; the first king gave up his life in order to save his children. A lot of people died that day, they weren't all evil.... well, depending on the person you asked but to Cerrabus, Lucifer was good within his soul much like Death; with the job, they were given a mold. Placed inside an image they can't escape because everyone needs someone to blame, when times are hard, when feeling down........ we all need someone to blame when things go wrong. Cerrabus admired Lycraeen whose image was a ckear reflect of the first king, her savior. She was the first born of her mother, born of Lilith's blood and power but she was ridiculed as such. All feared her and called her appearance gruesome; her existence was abomination, filthy. The heaven's agreed hunting her dwn before leaving her on the edge of dying. He found her in, no man's land and nursed her back to health. The devil raised her as his own, bestowing her with her greatest wish; an appearance resembling her mother's.

No one knew the importance of Lycraeen's existence, nor did they no what it entailed; the son of a choas child and the devil's beast. Lycra was a symbol amognst the demon realm, a statement of survival. Ashlin had given the Underworld something they believed will never happen to them, she gave them an heir, a legacy that won't be diminished easily.

In an Unknown realm

"Neil can you tell me why you're still interested in that angel" a young girl spat in disgust.

"Fine, I'll tell you but this is a secret... only three people knows this" Neil smiled ruffling the young girl's hair, "Ashlin came from the realm of Gods"

"That's impossible, how can she be a chaos child of she was created in Heaven?" She didn't understand what he meant.

"I never said she came from Heaven. Have you ever wondered where did God come from? How did he come, about? If we are all made from his image and likeness; we are raised to call him father yet he remains a creature we can't categorize. Have you ever seen the first people on Earth?" She shook her head, "Lady Lilith was not a female"

"What do you mean?" She tilted her head in confusion.

"Lilith was both male and female with the physical and genetic characteristics of such. This is the real reason why she refused to submit to Sir, Adam. After, she saw they were both the same.... what reason could there be for only her to submit? The first poeple where direct descendants of God with power and strength as such. It's funny how little is known of true history; Lucifer, Adam and Lilith lived in the realm of the Gods. After many battles and wars, it was agreed upon that, the realm of the Gods should be closed off. Their wars, sense of righteousness was plundering the word their father had created. One was left to oversee our galaxy; I've heard there's a different deity overseeing each universe hence why each universe is a little different from the next"

"How did she come from the realm of Gods?" Neil didn't answer and only laughed.

"That's a secret I can't tell" he placed a finger to his lips.
