Gliese 581g was an ordinary terrestrial planet. Due to its larger mass, it possessed a denser atmosphere, mainly composed of nitrogen, carbon dioxide, water vapor, and small amounts of sulfur hydrogen, methane, and other greenhouse gases.
Even though the light from the Central Constant Star wasn't intense, the greenhouse effect still enabled the average surface temperature to reach around minus 20 degrees Celsius.
