I dressed up in a mustard wrap dress and strapped my gladiator sandals on, glancing at the wall clock. We're supposed to meet at Von's house and this is the perfect time for a show. I glossed my lips to complete my look and headed to the garage.
Ed drove me to Von's and the guards let me in as soon as I rang the bell. A housemaid cleaning the figurines on the TV stand turned to me when I stepped on the front door. She smiled and pointed her finger on the staircase.
"They're in the library."
I smiled at her and headed upstairs only to find Anton alone in the library. He's Von's friend but from a different course. He leaned against the study table, reading a book in his hand.
I cleared my throat to get his attention and by the way he smirked, I knew that he already noticed my presence the moment I stepped in. He nodded at me and smiled. "Hey, Ginny. What's up?"
I shrugged and looked around. "Where are the others? I was told they are here."
"In the kitchen," he replied. His head cocked to one side and my eyes darted at the two bags on the couch. "But that's Nikki and Kat's stuff over there," he added.
I sauntered towards the couch and placed my bag atop the coffee table, turning to Anton. "What are you doing here, by the way?" I asked.
"Waiting for Von. I borrowed a game card."
I took my laptop to make an outline for the thesis, fully ignoring his presence. When I was almost done, I noticed Anton in the corner of my eyes. He went to the cabinet mounted on the wall and poured a drink, then he went to me with a glass in each hand.
I lifted my gaze. "Can't drink. I have a class later at 1," I said.
He lifted his left hand and shrugged. "Just one drink."
I took the glass that he handed me and placed it right away on the coffee table. He sat on the one-seater couch on my left as I continued typing.
"You know what," he said in an undertone, grabbing my laptop. I froze as I watched him set my it on the table.
"You should loosen up," he continued.
I actually rolled my eyes this time and leaned forward to reach for my laptop but he caught my wrist.
"Come on, Ginny. Let's have some fun."
Staring at his eyes, I noticed that he's already drunk. He must have been drinking already before I came. A mental eye-roll ran across my mind, why is he drinking in broad daylight?
I pulled my wrist but he's too strong and won't let me go. My breathing hitched when he tried to kiss me but I was quick to cock my head to one side.
"Let me go!" I screeched, standing up but he pulled me back to my seat.
"Help!" I pleaded, glancing at the door and moving as far as possible despite his hands gripping on my wrist.
"This room is fucking soundproof," he bragged.
My mouth hung open when he grabbed me on my neck and started kissing my jaw. I shivered in disgust, trying to get out of his hold, but every time I tried to move, he was tightening his grip on my neck.
I took a deep breath trying to calm myself and making time to think but I lost it when I felt his tongue on my cheek so I hit his head with mine.
"Fuck!" he moaned.
I felt my body shaking like hell but I did my best to push him. His back hit the coffee table so he crouched in pain and I took the opportunity to stand up. I was just two steps away when he pulled me by my wrist. I picked up the glass of liquor and smacked it on his head.
The liquor's scent filled my nose as he growled in pain.
"Fuck you!" he cursed.
I watched him crawl on the couch as I fell onto the ground. My eyes welled and my body was shaking as I got back to my feet and made my way to the door. This is bullshit. I can feel my own heartbeat, my chest pounding in pain.
I stopped as soon as I opened the door, seeing Von, Nikki and Katrin coming from downstairs.
"Hey," Von greeted, his eyes landed on the room behind me. "You okay?"
I balled my fist and leaned sideways against the door to keep my balance. "Something happened to Anton," I announce, my mouth slightly open from all the panting.
They quickly exchanged looks with each other before marching past me. I rolled my eyes, turning around to see their reactions. Katrin winced when she saw Anton wiping the blood in his head with his wrist as he reclined against the couch.
A thick, warm liquid oozed from my nose so I wiped it and saw blood on my fingers. I smirked and gazed at them. They're all looking at me like I'm some villain who just won't die.
I showed them my blood-stained finger. "Nice try."
They fell silent, all acting clueless but these dumb assholes didn't even ask what happened. I went downstairs and asked the housemaid for a tissue and an ice bag, nestling on the high-stool at the counter.
The housemaid eyed me with worry but I just smiled at her as I took the box of tissue that she handed me. Then she gave me an ice bag so I spent a few minutes in the kitchen, relieving my dizziness. I can't leave yet. I have to see this one until the end. You are fucking dead, Von.
I took the ice bag with me and went upstairs. When I entered the library, Anton was gone and it was Dwight standing on the door now.
"They went to Von's room," he said.
I nodded and trailed behind him as we headed to Von's room. I walked in when Dwight opened the door and saw Von playing PS4 while Nikki and Katrin were doing a manicure on each other. Dwight placed my stuff at the edge of the bed and sat beside Von on the carpeted floor.
I turned to Nikki and Katrin who were sitting on the couch on my left. "Aren't we going to start?" I asked.
"You type," she replied without looking at me.
I tossed the ice bag on the floor and grabbed my laptop. "Who's gonna do the introduction?" I asked.
No one bothered to answer so I just volunteered to do the first part.
"Ginny," Von called.
"What?"
"The maid baked some muffins, go check if it's ready."
I stood up and did as I was told. It was just one of many things they asked me to do. They also asked me to set-up the XBox, receive a parcel downstairs and get a pitcher of juice. I ended up making the first three chapters of the thesis because they're busy with everything else.
I closed my laptop and slid it inside my tote bag after I sent them the copies. They've been ordering me around since an hour ago and I hope they enjoyed it, because fun stops today.
I texted Ed to fetch me here after thirty minutes, glancing at the wall clock. When I stole a look at Von, I caught him staring at me as he sipped on his glass. I raised an eyebrow and turned to Nikki who was busy making a TikTok video with Katrin.
I stood up and went to the library to pour a glass of whiskey. A smirk made its way onto my lips as I took a large gulp on my drink.
Three, two, one.
The door flew open so I leaned against the edge of the table. Von came in and locked the door behind him. He walked up to me with his brows furrowed into a line, and stopped in front of me, crossing his arms.
I smirked and licked my lower lip.
"You should see how frustrated you are, Von."
He clenched his jaw and stepped closer, locking my right thigh in between his legs.
"You should've not come back," he mumbled. "I know what you found. What the hell do you want, Ginny?"
I smirked. "I want you to break."
He fell silent, eyeing me as if he could guess what I am thinking. I placed my hands beside me, slightly leaning backwards.
"I wonder what your father would do if the public finds out about Elisse. He is planning to run for a political seat isn't he? You will seriously blow his chances."
My breathing hitched when he grabbed me on my collar and pinned me against the bookshelf on my right. I'm still trying to regain my balance when I felt his grasp on my neck. I buried my nails on his wrist but he's too angry to care.
"You can kill me now but your secret's already out there. They will know what you did to Elisse," I warned.
"Shut up! I didn't mean it!"
I smirked as a chuckle escaped from my lips. "Oh, yeah? Like you didn't mean to make Anton come here and rape me?! Did you also not mean to stab Elisse and push her one the stairs just because she broke up with you? You're a fucking psycho!"
"I'm drunk! I did not kill her!"
"Oh, yes, Von. You didn't kill her," I agreed, gripping tighter on his wrist. "Because she's alive, isn't she? You hid your ex for two years without anyone knowing! Not even her family!"
"Shut up! Shut up!"
He smacked my head on the shelf twice so I quivered in pain. A smile made its way onto my lips when I heard a few steps from outside.
"Goodbye, Von," I whispered.
Someone knocked on the door before opening it. The cop outside was alerted upon seeing us so he pulled a gun.
"Von Enero. Put your hands behind your head and slowly walk away from the lady."
The next guy who came in was Mr. Enero in his usual button-down shirt and slacks, so Von quickly took his hands off of me.
"Dad," he muttered.
Another cop walked in and the one who pulled a gun came to Von to cuff him. "Mr. Vonrad Enero, you are being arrested for the kidnapping and frustrated murder of Elisse Smith. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say..."
As the cop talked to Von, I slightly bowed to Mr. Enero, while Katrin, Nikki and Dwight appeared at the doorway.
"What's happening here?!" Nikki asked, worry was painted all over her face.
Von peacefully walked with the cops downstairs. When they reached the gate, he finally looked at us. Our gaze met as I stood behind the others and mouthed "fuck you" so I smirked and gently waved my hand.
When the cops drove away, Nikki quickly turned to Mr. Enero. "What happened?"
He sighed deeply and handed a black folder to Nikki. "My son is hiding his ex-girlfriend in a psychiatric hospital."
Nikki's mouth hung open as she took the folder.
"I'll go ahead. You all should go if you have classes. This will be messy, so avoid the media at all cost." Mr. Enero instructed.
He took his phone out and went outside. Nikki opened the folder and gasped in surprise.
"Oh, my God. This is really Elisse..."
I watched them pass the folder to one another.
"He's hiding Elisse? Jesus Christ! Your boyfriend is a psycho, Nikki!" Katrin exclaimed. "Let's get out of here," she added and walked past me, heading to the stairs, but her steps went slower as she turned to me. When I looked at Dwight and Nikki, they're already staring at me too, so I shrugged.
"What?" I asked, acting clueless like what they did upstairs.
Nikki's palm landed on her mouth as she looked at me with fear, raising the folder in her hand. "Don't tell me... you did this?"
I smirked and glanced at the folder. "Of course I didn't do that." Then I pointed my finger at the front door where Von went out with the cops. "But that? Yes, I did."
I smiled sweetly and made my way to the stairs but someone grabbed me in my hair followed by Nikki's yelling.
"Fuck you, Ginny! You should've just died!!"
"Calm down, Niks..." Dwight pulled her away as Katrin inched towards her and kept her from reaching me.
"Let me go! I'm going to kill this bitch!" she scowled as I ran my fingers through my hair.
I watched her fall to her knees, crying and sobbing. She leaned on Dwight's chest while Katrin was caressing her head. With my arms crossed, I resisted smiling in front of them.
"You," I called Katrin's attention. She looked up to me and frowned, not saying anything.
"You love a murderer," I declared, and turned to Nikki. "And you, your boyfriend is a psycho." I sighed and finally smirked at them. "So who's pathetic and disgusting now?"
Realization hit them and their faces made sure of it. I dropped my smile and went upstairs to get my stuff. When I got back to the living room, I saw them sitting on the couch, consoling Nikki who hasn't stopped crying.
I walked straight to the door but Katrin stood up and pulled me in my left arm. "You're going to pay for this, Ginny," she warned.
I pulled my hand away and pointed at the stairs. "No, you will pay for what you made Anton do to me."
"I... I don't know what you're talking about." She blinked and eyed me, acting clueless again.
I briefly caressed her shoulder and smiled. "You're next, Katrin. So run."
