Chapter 2 - 02

Dear Renjun,

I can't wait to see you at Murev later! You may think I'm a sasaeng, but I swear, I'm really not. It just really happened that I'm also a member of the music club. Anyways don't forget to eat, okay?

"Oh crap, I totally forgot about the meeting later." Renjun sighed and placed the letter inside his pocket. "Mark hyung didn't even sent me a reminder like he usually does."

"Well, you can't blame him for having practices to do. As if you're not used to it." Taeil scoffed. "Anyways, what was that?" He asked when he saw the paper peeking out of his pocket.

"Another letter." Renjun shrugged and closed his locker after placing his notebooks.

"You'll attend the meeting later?" Taeil asked and the younger nodded.

"What about you, hyung?" Renjun asked.

Taeil shook his head, "I have a project defense to work on. I still have to study. Tell Mark I couldn't attend." He said.

Renjun just nodded at what the older told him and stopped walking when he reached his classroom.

"See you around, hyung." He smiled.

🎶

"Minji, hurry!" HyeJin said, as she grabbed the older's gand and started running.

She wanted to be the first one to arrive at MUREV's gathering room to see the others. Most importantly Renjun.

"HyeJin, I know you want to see Renjun but please, we can walk." Minji sighed, but she just let the younger pull her.

The younger giggled, "I'm sorry!!!" She said and continued running.

There were only three people inside the gathering room when they arrived. The president, which is Mark. The vice president, Song Sihyun, which was also Mark's partner in replace of Eunmi before, and the secretary, Byun Baekhyun, from the college department.

"Good afternoon~" Minji and HyeJin bowed as a sign of respect when they entered the room.

"Oh, you're here early." Baekhyun was surprised to see the two. "Better though, because Sihyun can't relate to anything Mark and I are talking about." He laughed.

Mark shook his head while laughing.

Sihyun huffed, "Minji-ah, HyeJin-ah, could you help me set the speaker and the banners up?" She looked at the two.

HyeJin smiled and stood up, "Sure, unnie!"

While Minji rolled her eyes. "You're such a lazy person." They laughed.

A few minutes later, the club members started to arrive one by one.

"Jin, I don't think he's coming." Minji whispered.

HyeJin was thinking of the same thing, too, but she wasn't losing hope. She was still positive. That maybe, Renjun was just running late and that he's attending the meeting.

She scanned the almost-full room, but there weren't any signs of Renjun.

She sighed, "Maybe you're right, unnie." She smiled weakly. "Maybe he has practices to do. More important than this." She said and looked down. "There will be other meetings, though. I mean, this isn't the last meeting—"

Minji scoffed and nudged her arm. "You talk too much. There's your man in shining uniform by the door."

It didn't took a whole second for HyeJin to look at Renjun who just entered the room. His hair was disheveled, and he was carrying his school bag.

He looked like a mess, but to her, he was still perfect.

"Looks like everyone's here." Sihyun tapped the mic and stood in front of the crowd. She smiled and took a bow, "Hello everyone, I'm Music Revolution's vice president, Song Sihyun!"

"Hello, I'm Byun Baekhyun~" Baekhyun bowed and introduced himself.

"Thank you for attending the meeting, everyone. I'm Mark Lee, Music Revolution's president." He smiled and took a bow.

"Now, for this month's activities..." They started discussing the events and activities for the month.

HyeJin was listening carefully, interested at the topics the president was saying.

"Renjun, wake up." Kun nudged Renjun, whose eyes were slowly closing. "Mark might see you and forget that you're even friends." He chuckled.

Renjun flinched, "W-What happened, hyung?" He asked.

"You were already sleeping. What happened to you until you became this tired?" Kun whispered in their own language, Mandarin, so that they would be the only ones who could understand what they were talking about.

"Blame physical education." The younger shrugged. "We played basketball earlier, and it was also Jaemin and Donghyuck's fault." He sighed.

"Why? What happened?" Kun asked.

"Just don't ask." The younger rolled his eyes and looked at the person who was talking in front.

Jaemin and Donghyuck was in the same team as Renjun, and they kept on committing fouls and violations, well, most on Donghyuck's part.

The meeting ended and Renjun wondered why he came there in the first place. He stood up and grabbed his bag, as he noticed a book that was lying on one of the armchairs.

"Ephemera?" He asked himself as he looked at the back and read the summary.

He shrugged and flipped the cover over. Then, he saw some Chinese characters written on the bottom part of the first page.

"Lee... HyeJin...?" He asked himself. "Who's Lee HyeJin?"

📚

"I can't find it anywhere!" HyeJin stomped her foot for the nth time while walking outside her room.

"That's what you get for scattering your things everywhere."

"Haerin, can you not? You're not even helping!" She rolled her eyes at Haerin, who was casually eating popcorn while watching her go up and down the stairs.

"And to you, have you done your homeworks?" Minji raised a brow at Haerin.

The younger just nodded.

"Where did you last see it?"

"It was still with me when I went to Murev's meeting, Minji-unnie..." She said and sat on one of the couches. "I can't remember if it was with me when I went home."

"Oh God, no... my dad gave me that book...." She said and hugged one of the pillows.

"Don't worry." Haerin sat beside her and smiled. "We'll find it."

"What's that?" Jeno asked Renjun when he saw him holding a book in his hands.

"A book, you idiot." Renjun rolled his eyes and continued reading.

"You don't read books." Jeno rolled his eyes.

"How am I the first in our class, then?" Renjun backfired.

Jeno stood up, having enough of Renjun's backfires. "I mean those kinds of novel, pabo!" He said, leaving the Chinese guy alone.

Renjun isn't really fond of novels. Not that he hates them, he just don't find them interesting.

Yet here he is, almost through with the 500-paged novel he saw at the gathering room earlier. He doesn't even know who the owner is, but here he is, reading the novel like it's his.

He closed the book and stood up, planning to go to his room.

A picture fell from the book, but he was too quick to notice that it was slipped on the last page of the book.

It was a middle-aged man, with a young lady. About Chenle or Jisung's age. Her hair was long and black, that lasted up to her arms. He was hugging her, and she was smiling happily.

"This is HyeJin?" He asked himself.

"And this must be her father...." He said.

"Interesting..."
