On the sixth day inside the canyon, early in the morning, Ruanruan opened her eyes in a daze, her messy hair sticking up as she wriggled her little bottom back and forth in her master's embrace.
"Master, Master, are you awake?" came her soft, cooing voice within the tent.
Jiu Yun hummed a response, sat up, and simultaneously helped the little one in his arms to sit properly as well.
But the little one was like boneless, leaning lazily against him, pouting her small mouth, mumbling discontentedly.
"Master, why can't Ruanruan open her eyes~"
With his arm around Ruanruan, Jiu Yun looked at her with her eyes closed, leaning against him, his voice indulgent, "Do you want to sleep a bit longer?"
Ruanruan rolled in Jiu Yun's embrace, humming and climbing up, her plump, jointed, little arms wrapping around Jiu Yun's neck, her chubby, delicate little face buried in the crook of his neck.
