The butler said with a chuckle, "This isn't a cherry, it's called a cherry, sweet. Miss Ruanruan, would you like to have a taste?"
Ruanruan ate one dubiously and then her eyes widened in surprise.
"It's true, it's not sour!"
Ruanruan felt she was so fortunate; not only did she have strawberries to eat but also these delicious cherries. It would have been perfect if her master were here; she could have shared some with him.
After having a few, a bowl of steaming hot vegetarian noodles was served.
The little one ate until her little tummy was all swollen and eventually had to go out for a stroll to aid digestion.
Little Baibai, also with a round tummy from eating, was quite smart. In just one day of following Ruanruan, the little fellow had already learned to act cute to get treats.
Aunt Liu, the cook, was another who especially adored little cats and dogs. Little Baibai looked beautiful, and with just one pitiful meow, Aunt Liu had already given it several little pork ribs to eat.
Of course, the end result was that Little Baibai overate!
Ruanruan called for Little Baibai, and the two little dumplings wobbled outside to help digestion.
The butler followed and took the opportunity to help Ruanruan get familiar with the surroundings. Wandering around, Ruanruan's sharp eyes caught sight of a figure standing under a big tree not far away.
And it was a child!
Headed in that direction anyway, Ruanruan took Little Baibai over.
The butler glanced over, the child appeared to be from the neighboring villa.
"Mimi, come down, I have dried fish for you."
Ruanruan arrived just in time to hear the little boy saying this.
Curious, she looked up and then spotted a little cat trapped in a tree, shivering with fright.
The little boy stood under the tree, trying to lure the little cat down with dried fish, but the key issue was that the little cat simply couldn't come down!
"The cat can't come down, it can't reach the food," Ruanruan pointed out.
The little boy, who was attentively using dried fish to "seduce" the cat, had his attention immediately drawn away by this soft and milky voice.
Turning his head, the two little dumplings were instantly attracted to each other.
The little boy had a tuft of fluffy black hair, skin as pale as snow, and a Western facial structure, yet he was as delicate as an elf.
What captivated Ruanruan the most, however, were his deep blue eyes.
They were like clean lake water reflecting the blue sky, so clear and beautiful.
"Wow, you're so beautiful!" Ruanruan exclaimed with her mouth agape in admiration.
Jiang Jincheng, suddenly hearing such a compliment from the pretty little bald head, blushed.
Ruanruan walked over, stood in front of Jiang Jincheng, and the two small children looked at each other, their clean eyes filled with pure admiration for beautiful things.
"My name's Ruanruan, I'm already five years old. Handsome little brother, what's your name~"
Ruanruan gazed expectantly at the handsome little boy in front of her, introducing herself first.
"I... My name is Jiang Jincheng, and I'm six years old."
Jiang Jincheng's pale little face flushed pink from being stared at by Ruanruan.
Ruanruan stood in front of Jiang Jincheng and realized she only reached a little below his chest!
Little Ruanruan immediately frowned, pouting and fiddling with her fingers.
"Why is Ruanruan so short? How long will it take to grow as tall as Daddy," she mumbled.
Looking at the little dumpling in front of him, although Jiang Jincheng didn't know who Ruanruan's father was, he thought it might take her a very, very long time to grow tall.
Jiang Jincheng looked down at the Little Monk, pursed his lips slightly, and asked the question that had sparked his curiosity.
"Why don't you have any hair?" After speaking, he couldn't help his curiosity and placed his little hand onto Ruanruan's smooth forehead.
Ruanruan hugged her round head with her short chubby arms and replied confidently, "Because Ruanruan is a little monk, and my master is a big monk, so I'm a little monk."
Her voice was both loud and clear.
She sounded quite proud of herself!
The butler at the side twitched the corners of his mouth.
"Like those monks on TV?" Jiang Jincheng nodded in understanding.
Ruanruan "???"
There are monks on TV? Why hasn't she seen them!
The butler watched from the side without stopping his young miss from making new friends. He knew the child from the Jiang family; the kid was decent.
"Is that cat yours?" Ruanruan had a brief exchange with Jiang Jincheng before she turned her gaze to the black and white kitten in the tree.
The little kitten's round eyes looked down at the two below, as well as a wolf.
The little one's claws were hooked onto the trunk, its fur all puffed up, as it meowed miserably with its mouth wide open.
"Yeah, it went up and now it won't come down. Does it not like me? I even offered it dried fish but it still won't come down."
Jiang Jincheng looked at the kitten in the tree, his voice tinged with a hint of grievance.
Ruanruan immediately comforted him.
"It likes you, the little cat is just too scared to come down."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Jincheng furrowed his brows, puzzled, "But it managed to climb up."
In the little boy's mind, if you can climb up, you should be able to get back down.
Ruanruan comforted her newly made little friend, "The kitty is too small and too timid. If the tree's too high, it gets scared to climb back down. Little Baibai used to love climbing up high too and then couldn't get down. Every time, Dabai and the others would have to carry it down. It's okay, I'll go and bring it down."
As she spoke, Ruanruan rolled up her sleeves and prepared to climb the tree.
The sudden action frightened the butler, who had been standing by. He quickly picked up Ruanruan, who was already hugging the tree trunk.
"My dear little miss, are you trying to scare me to death!"
Ruanruan, still being held, had a puzzled look on her face.
"What's the matter, Uncle Butler?"
Jiang Jincheng also lifted his head to stare at the butler, his eyes round as saucers, his face a mixture of consternation and shock!
Miss... Miss! Could it be that Ruanruan isn't a boy!!!
The butler didn't notice the shock of the boy at his feet, and continued to plead patiently with Ruanruan in his arms.
"Little miss, you're a girl, still a child, how can you climb such a high tree!"
Ruanruan touched her fingertips together, "But Ruanruan used to climb trees often before."
The butler felt even more distressed.
"Miss Ruanruan is still so small, how can she climb trees? What if you fall down, what then?"
"I won't, Ruanruan is really good at climbing trees." Ruanruan was very confident.
Even so, that won't do! The butler calmly insisted.
"For safety, let's not go up the tree, okay?"
"But the kitty..." Ruanruan looked at the pitiful little kitten, she really wanted to climb up and rescue it.
"Don't worry about that. I'll have someone bring a ladder," the butler assured.
Seeing the butler's worried expression, Ruanruan hugged his neck like a kitten nuzzling him, and said especially sweetly,
"Alright, Ruanruan won't climb trees, so Uncle Butler won't worry."
The butler was moved by Ruanruan's gesture; too adorable, how could there be such a heartwarming little lovely in this world.
Suddenly, he felt a tug on his trousers, and looking down, he met a pair of blue eyes.
"Ruanruan is not afraid," he said, stretching out his little arms, also wanting a hug.
He had thought it through; whether Ruanruan was a brother or a sister, it was all very good, so very well-behaved!
The butler twitched an eyelid, was this little guy trying to compete with him for Miss Ruanruan!
"Jiang Jincheng, wait a moment, Uncle Butler will have someone come to help you rescue the kitty," Ruanruan said as she came down from the butler's embrace. The two little ones hugged each other briefly before separating.
But Jiang Jincheng grabbed Ruanruan's little hand and walked to the foot of the tree, then took out a piece of chocolate from his little suspender shorts and placed it in Ruanruan's delicate plump hand.
"Here, for you to eat."
