Ruanruan shook her little head, "It doesn't matter, although we're reading different books, we're still reading together."
The two little Ruanruans set their books on the small table, sitting upright with a small fruit plate in the middle, so they could reach out and grab a snack anytime they wished.
Hutuan and other children came over wanting some of the small fruits to eat, and Ruanruan and Jiang Jincheng each handed out a little to send them away.
It wasn't until the teacher entered and started the lesson that Ruanruan glanced at the day's curriculum, Chinese, which consisted of students following the teacher in reading and recognizing words. Ruanruan and Jincheng had long since learned the simple characters in their book, so they didn't listen to the Chinese teacher and continued reading their own books.
Seeing this, the Chinese teacher called out their names.
"Jiu Anruan, Jiang Jincheng, you two come up and read this text to everyone," she said.
