Kreave, a young boy living under the shadow of his father and grandfather, the two most widely renown apothecaries in the entirety of the continent. While coming from such an amazingly known and well respected family, Kreave was still on the lower spectrum of the caste system currently active within society. The caste has three main parts to it, each with their respective sub classes and levels. Firstly we have the high end, this is your nobles and high ranking adventurers, then the mids, this is your average everyday people, and then the lows, this is the poor and homeless people of the kingdom. Kreave and his family were currently in the lower end of the mids, their shop struggled to pull in enough profit to support them. The reasoning for this is that apothecary's are basically useless in this world, this world that is run by travelers. The people known as travelers were people blessed by magic that gave them inhuman strength smarts and arcane abilities. Around 85% of people born into this world have the ability to become a traveler if they wish to do so, but in this world nobody doesn't want to become a traveler. Travelers are power houses within society, the lowest traveler ranks higher than any average citizen will ever be able to. In turn the people who are unable to become travelers, or people who lack the ability to harness and use magic are suppressed by society, tis the way of things. So when Kreave was tested and had a magical aptitude of zero, he was shunned by the people he once called friends. His father and grandfather were awestruck, Kreave came from a long line of skilled travelers that made a name for themselves and their heritage. Having someone this far down the line be someone who was predicted to be useless in society be the sole heir was earth breaking. So what did Kreave do? Well he studied, if he wont be able to rise to the top through power, he will do so through knowledge. He planned on becoming the best apothecary in history, surpassing his grandfather and the rest of his forefathers.
