Chapter 1 - Alexander Carey

[Planet Arsak, Mokul City].

It was a different afternoon from other days, today the wind was unbearably cold in Mokul City. Temperatures were low enough to delay much of the work inside the city.

At one of the city's landfills, a small group stood in the center of this uninhabited place. Four of these individuals with similar characteristics; two meters tall, crocodile-like scales, an extensive pointed tail of about 1.5 meters with the thickness of a birch trunk shrinking to end in a pointed tip and reptilian pupils.

These characteristics belong to one of the races that predominated part of the universe.

The Porska.

Meanwhile, the remaining member of this particular group of variables was a young human of 16 years of age in degradable health. Alexander was somewhat small for his age, had tanned skin, black eyes and long black hair that reached his shoulders. His features were neither very pretty, nor very ugly, however, his sharp gaze added a wild charm to his persona.

"I must return to the shelter soon." he thought in alarm.

His gaze strayed to a broken pane of glass in a mountain of debris that was beginning to fog up with water droplets. Temperatures were dropping as the seconds passed. At some point the air he exhaled from his lungs revealed itself to be a cloud of vapor.

The planet Arsak was known for its extreme temperature levels and anomalies. One morning it could be frighteningly hot and within a few hours freezing cold. For an ordinary human it was almost impossible to acclimatize.

Alexander was dressed in dirty and dilapidated clothing he had found in past explorations while searching for resources in these uninhabited areas.

While part of his attention was on the weather that was becoming increasingly dangerous, he silently scanned the group of lizards detaining him.

"Chief Izaro, we finally caught this slithering rat after a long time." One of the lizards in the group was the first to speak. His voice was one of excitement as the tail sticking out behind him wagged back and forth like a dog with a new toy in front of it.

"Earlier when I attacked him, he was able to withstand my blow without being seriously injured. He must be different from the other rats we've caught. We'll definitely make a fortune if we catch him." The lizard's tail wagged with more excitement at the thought of them hitting the jackpot. He looked at the Porska beside him. The latter was larger than his companions and had an arrogant and fierce presence.

Izaro, who was the leader of this group, nodded slightly. His thoughts were the same. "We have in front of us a rather special prey, it would be a shame to do nothing."

The other members nodded and laughed.

Listening to the sassy conversation of the reptilian group. Alexander frowned.

Izaro looked at the small backpack in his hands that he had stolen a few minutes ago and....

Explosion!

The object in his hand was easily crushed. All the material fell to the ground destroyed.

Alexander's body shook briefly. He was furious. "Son of a bitch..."

The contents inside the backpack were nothing important. They were resources available anywhere.

However, what was important was the backpack!

"Do you know how much effort it took me to find a backpack in my size that could still be of use?" he thought angrily.

Izaro didn't seem to mind the hateful expression he was getting and said as he walked forward, "Today is a bad day for you, human. Just stand still while we take care of everything."

Izaro raised his arm in the air as he swiftly attacked.

Seeing the scaly fist as big as his head approach in an instant, Alexander's eyes sharpened.

Raising his hands he calculated the exact instant before moving them in the direction of the attack.

His enemy was surprised to see his opponent counterattack and even more so with the difference in size. He didn't think much and added more force to his attack.

Alexander felt his body lose gravity and flew a few meters in the air before skidding to a stop on the ground. His limbs were numb but the rest of his body was fine.

Both sides exchanged glances.

"Impressive..." Izaro lauded as he looked at his fist. "You are weak, but you have knowledge in combat."

He felt as if he had struck a feather.

"With your skills they will offer a fortune." Izaro averted his gaze indifferently at Alexander. "Stand still or things will be harder for you."

Now he was going with all his might.

A slight smirk appeared on the young human's face. As he raised his middle finger he sneered, "You think I'll obey you, you damned lizard? You're still thousands of years of evolution away from talking to me."

Izaro said nothing. However, a large bulge appeared on his neck.

The other Porska looked at the human with obvious fury.

To be compared to a pathetic reptile was humiliating.

In an instant, Izaro's figure moved.

Alexander bowed his head quickly and felt the wind ruffle his hair. A thin line of blood formed on his cheek. Izaro's scales had cut his skin easily.

"That was a close one." He thought as he stepped back.

"Argh!" Izaro roared angrily after missing his attack as he launched a barrage of blows.

The minions rallied to support their boss.

"Shit!" Alexander's eyes snapped open as he saw four huge rep on snapped open at the sight of four huge reptiles attacking him at the same time.

His dexterity was pushed to the limit as he evaded the attacks. His eyes darted from side to side in alarm.

He felt like a rabbit being attacked by a pack of dumb dogs.

Each attack was dodged with utmost precision as far as possible. However, unlike these lizards that could go on attacking for hours, Alexander would at most hold out for a few more seconds.

Group combat put too much pressure. Both physical and mental. Adding the weather didn't help at all. His mind was strained to the max in search of a way out when an idea suddenly popped into his head.

Accidentally, Alexander slipped on the ground when he made a move. Izaro saw this small opportunity and didn't hesitate to use it to his advantage.

Boom!

Alexander tried his best not to let out a grunt. Then several cracking sounds were heard as his figure was thrown several meters into the air towards a mountain of rubble. His body landed heavily.

"I finally got you damn cockroach..." Izaro smiled victoriously as he rushed up.

Suddenly, the mountain of rubble that was motionless a few seconds ago began to shake.

The enemy opened his eyes in surprise before realizing what happened. "It was a trick. You bastard!"

Explosion!

The mountain of debris fell on him and his group in a matter of seconds burying them alive.

Meanwhile, a small swift shadow was seen in the distance moving away from the dump into the forest.

"Shit, that hurt." Alexander ran at top speed without looking back. He looked at his deformed arm that was bent at an unnatural angle and biting down on the handkerchief in his mouth that he had used to avoid the toxic fumes at the dump, he used his own strength to get his arm back to the right place.

Crunch.

"Argh... god, it hurts like hell. next time I find them I'm gonna get 'em!" his eyes flashed with vengeance as he leapt from tree to tree in the forest avoiding the dangerous areas.

At no point did he stop running.

However, it seemed everything was against him as his injuries began to affect him more than he had intended. He felt his organs shaking generating a hellish internal pain.

With not enough of his miserable condition, the snow around him was getting thicker making his movements difficult.

Time passed slowly.

He doesn't know at what moment it happened, but from one second to the next he found himself limping through the forest. His bare feet were purple and he could vaguely feel his legs, except for the unbearable cold.

Then, his body suddenly fell to the ground motionless.

Snow slowly began to cover him.
