"She… She looks like Sandra!" Mr. Hugo blurted out loudly of what is inside his mind. His eyes couldn't conceal the bewilderment of his mind.
"How… How is this possible?" Alexander said as he slowly walks towards Samantha. He looks at every corner of Samantha's face. His eyes filled with sadness, anxiety and confusion.
"Papa?" Sandra called him. Sandra feels the heaviness of her father's emotions and anxiety slowly envelopes her heart. She doesn't know why her heart says not to let her father see Samantha but at the same time, she wants Samantha to be part of the family.
"W… What is her name again?" Alexander asked to Sandra while he's still looking at Samantha.
Sandra gulped and her lips trembled. She feels suffocated because of her father's tone of voice filled with tenderness that should only belong to her. She doesn't want to answer but she knows that her father will not tolerate lies.
She clenched her fingers into a ball and said, "Samantha Velasco" while doing her best not to stutter.
"I… I already investigated her name but why is there no data about her? It feels like she appears out of nowhere" Alexander said without knowing it himself that he is trembling uncomfortably.
"What? No data? What do you mean, Papa?" Sandra jolted out when she heard of what her father is saying.
'What is the meaning of this? She doesn't belong to any family? Only a name made her existence?' Sandra feels pity on Samantha.
"Mr. Hugo, I want you to investigate any Velasco family either rich or poor, abroad or not. I want to know everything about her" he ordered to Mr. Hugo.
"Yes, we will investigate right away" Mr. Hugo replied and immediately left for investigation.
The medical team sends Samantha on the nearest hospital and the doctors send her inside the Operating Room for proper treatment. The bullet is still beside her chest. One wrong move it will definitely take away her life.
The doctors are familiar with Alexander and his daughter. That's why the doctors are doing their best to properly treat Samantha, as they thought that the one they are treating is Sandra Cicero.
"How is she?" Alexander asked the Main Doctor of the group who treated Samantha. The main doctor is about to tell him about the critical condition of Samantha by using Sandra's name when he suddenly sees Sandra peeked out from behind of Alexander.
There's confusion on his eyes but set it aside and told Alexander of Samantha's situation.
"Her heart was almost pierced through by the bullet. We already did our best. If she survived the ordeal tonight, she will definitely be saved from Yama" he replied.
Alexander nodded and felt relieved. This feeling keeps on bothering him. Why is he affected when he saw Samantha lying on her blood while his real daughter is beside her?
"Papa?" Sandra called him and her face darkened when she saw his relieved expression after hearing the situation of Samantha.
Why does she feel anxious? This keeps bothering her mind and heart.
After an hour, Samantha is still unconscious when she is send to the VIP room of the hospital. Alexander wanted to take care of her because of different reasons.
First, he wanted to know why she is look-alike of his daughter. Then, asked about her family. Second, he wanted to take care of her.
Well, he doesn't know it himself but his only reason is to take care of Samantha. Knowing her family background is the second option he wanted to do. He just doesn't want others to misunderstand his behaviour.
Samantha is still frowning while her eyes shut. Her face looks uncomfortable while her fingers hold tightly on the quilt she has until she opened her eyes and feeling suffocated.
She jolted out awake and sat up while panting.
"Are you okay?" she heard the voice of Sandra filled with worries as she looks at her.
"Are you feeling uncomfortable somewhere on your body?" she asked again when she didn't get an answer from Samantha.
Samantha shakes her head and holds the hands of Sandra tightly, "I'm fine" her only respond. Sandra calms down and gives Samantha a glass of water.
"I saw you feeling uncomfortable when sleeping. I don't know what to do so I called the doctor" she said while feeling sorry. She knows that Samantha doesn't want others to worry about her.
Samantha smiles at Sandra while caressing Sandra's cheeks, "It's fine. I am glad you're safe. I don't know what to do if you're gone" she said as her tears flows down her cheeks.
Sandra wipes away the tears of Samantha. She doesn't want to see her crying but she knows the tears are what they called 'tears of joy'. She knows Samantha is crying because she's safe.
"I'm also worried of you. You're unconscious for two weeks. We don't know what to do. I want you to wake up early. I didn't expect you wake up this day. Fortunately, I bought a five pieces of apples and a cup of lemon juice for you" Sandra said as she brought out five pieces of apples and a cup of lemon juice for Samantha to see and makes her feel that there are still people in the world who will care for her.
Samantha smiles but immediately turned cold when the door opens. The doctors and nurses entered the room as they start observing her. Although she saw Alexander entered the room, she does not look at him. It's not she doesn't want to look at him; she just couldn't look at him. Who would look at their father who couldn't even tell which is the real Sandra?
Yes, Samantha remembers some of her memories but some are vague. All she knows that Alexander is her father.
Alexander has noticed Sandra trying to avoid his eyes. He frowned. Why does he feel like his daughter is rebelling against him?
"She's fine but she needs rest" the main physician said and Samantha nodded. She still feels weak so she has no other choice but to remain.
Suddenly, the door slammed open loudly. Everyone looks at the old man who enters the room without permission. Alexander frowned.
Alexander knows the old man. He knows his darkest secret because he was also included on those people being investigated because he's not only a Velasco but the Velasco Head who doesn't have a son or daughter.
"I'll transfer my granddaughter to another hospital" he firmly said while sternly looks at Samantha.
Samantha feels threatened. She knows that Zander Velasco could do whatever he wanted and eliminate those he hated the most.
"Do you have proof that she's part of your family?" Alexander asked. He asked this because he feels like he was robbed of his role as a father.
"Her name is on my family register. You could look onto it" Zander shortly replied.
Alexander clenched his hand into fist. He wanted to keep Samantha by his side in order to know more about her but Zander didn't even bat an eye on this.
"Hey! Who do you think you are? You could see that both I and Samantha are look-alike. There's some meaning behind this! We are either twin sisters or… or… something" she stuttered at the last sentence.
"You're smart but also naïve. Samantha is a clone. I bought her seven years ago from auction house. Her qualities are qualified to inherit my family. Is there any question about that?" Zander revealed about 'clone'.
Everyone's eyes widened and looked between Samantha and Sandra. Alexander also jolted out when he heard of what Zander meant.
It means, there was clone experimentation seven years ago. Seven years ago, Sandra was also abducted by secret organization. Now that he heard this, he realized why Samantha looks like Sandra.
Sandra was also included on to those children being experimented for cloning and Samantha is the finished product of that experiment.
Zander told them the half truth and half lies. The half truth is about the clone experiment and the half lie is about the auction house. He doesn't want others to connect him to that clone experiment even though he owned it but it was anonymous.
The clone experimentation started when he was not yet created. Yes, not yet created. The one who owned the lab is the original Zander Velasco but he doesn't want anyone to know of this because he already got rid of the original Zander just to satisfy his dream as being the lover of original Zander's lover.
At that time, Zander wasn't married yet but being killed by his clone. The clone wanted to replace him so that he could have Sylvia. He was filled with hatred and jealousy towards the original Zander that was why he planned to get rid of him.
Sylvia was already pregnant at that time without Zander's knowing. However, an accident happened that took the life of Sylvia and the unborn child before the clone Zander got her.
