Ash's POV
I heard my alarm go off. I sprang out of bed and took a shower. I could not wait to see Aro and I prayed she would not be all bruised or cut up but I knew deep down she would always be like that. I said Goodbye to my dad and step mom and then left for school. I drive a 1965 baby blue Ford Ranger F-100. This car was my baby and I kept her well maintained. While I was driving, I thought about how many fights would I have to break up because of Aro. Aro never used to pick fights but seemed to be the only way she every got her dads attention now a days. I think he slightly blames Aro for the death of his first wife and I think he even knows that Cain his eldest son abuses her. I almost wanted to throw up due to the fact that her family could care less about her. Aro was the closest thing I had to a sister now that both of of our moms were gone.
When I got to school, I saw Aro's black 1967 mustang convertible in the parking lot, and decided to go find her. I walked into the school and I spotted her at our table. She was bobbing her head slightly and drumming her hands across the table like she was playing the piano. She didn't sense me coming up behind her and then I jabbed her in the side like I always do, but today she was different. She groaned in pain and I knew she was beat last night by her brother Cain. I told her to explain what had happened, and she quietly told me everything. My blood was boiling with rage. Aro noticed and placed a hand on my arm telling me to calm down. Normally that works but not today. My mate was the only thing that could calm me down hopefully he or she could find me. Taking a deep breathe I was able to calm my wolf down with soothing words of later, in the future, and one day we will get him for the pain he has caused Aro.
The bell rang telling us that we needed to get to class. Aro and I have the same class schedule so that no fights would break out with teachers or students. The principle never liked it when we were always in his office due to Aro giving a kid a broken nose, arm, leg, and etc. Aro and I walked to our first class which was biology. We went to our seats in the back of the class. We always sat right by each other. I needed to be close to Aro so she did not get to angry and lose herself to her wolf in class. Then the bell rang. Mr. Herald walked in, this teacher hated both of us, ever since Aro got into an argument with him about Biology based information that I can not remember at the start of this year. Mr. Herald gave us the most disgusting look, I just ignored him, but Aro could not handle that look. She nearly lost it. So I decided to distract her with a sketch I made for her. She calmed down slightly after that. It was getting really hard to control her lately, and I prayed to the Moon Goddess for her to find her mate soon. During class Aro intently listened and wrote notes ignoring the looks that the teacher and the kids gave her. She always raised her hand to answer questions when she wanted. Aro was very smart and optimistic. I just hoped her mate would see that too, and not reject her. When the bell finally rang I sensed she was completely calm and nudged her to her next class which was Photography her favorite hobby.
This is the only class that we do not have together. As we parted ways I smelled the most delicious scent of apples and earth. I followed the scent right to my next class which was Home-EC (Cooking class). As I entered the class I noticed my seat was empty, and I could not find who the lovely scent belonged to until I heard a growl behind me and a voice whisper "Mine". I looked behind me and saw Derek the beta of the Frost land pack standing behind me with a look of adoration and lust. He was one of the most popular guys in the school. He had short black hair, bright blue eyes, over six feet tall, and very built. I could not believe that he was my mate. I silently thanked the Moon Goddess for my mate finally finding me. Derek interrupted my thoughts by speaking.
" What is your name mate?" he asked with love.
" My name is Ash I'm the beta from the Snow Valley pack outside of Denver, and your Derek the beta to the Frost lands Pack." I told him.
" Wow, I have heard of that pack there was a big accident that happened a few years ago that killed the Luna and her best friend right? He asked with sorrow in his eyes as he remembered the news program.
" Yes." Was all I could reply.
The bell rang at this point and he sat down next to me as class began. I mind linked Aro and told her I had found my mate. She was happy for me, but I could hear her sadness creep into my senses. I had a very bad feeling that she had gotten rejected. I got angry and just about left the class but Derek kept me calm by grabbing my hand. I calmed immediately, and stayed calm all through the class. When class finally ended I ran to find Aro. Derek was right behind me like he knew I was gonna need backup. Once I found her she was huddled in the biggest bathroom stall in the girls bathroom. I tried to get her to open the door, but my words were landing in deaf ears. Aro was losing her grip on life again. She had not had suicidal thoughts for a year now. What could have caused this to surface now.
