Chapter 6 - Chapter 1- Hope

Morning alarm is the stupidest thing ever. Why do people have to wake up early? Don't they feel sleepy like me? Well, I'm one of a kind. I'm not like any other normal girl who wakes up, makes her bed, gets ready, and is off to school. I always wake up with an annoying alarm and can't even sleep for 5 more minutes because I have to go to training.

I'm Janet Carter, an S-Level athlete, and boxer. After the death of my parents, I started doing combat sport. I don't have many friends like every normal teenager have. I only have my one angel-like best friend- Melissa Holden. She's a pretty blonde with the best green eyes I've ever seen. Her hair is long and wavy, in all she's stunning...but you actually don't know who I am. The baddest street racer and fighter. ha ha ha..

"Get up Jan" my younger brother screams from the dining room.

"I'm up!" I scream back. Even though he's 2 years younger than me still he acts like my big brother sometimes. Well, it's not his mistake he is managing the company since he was twelve and now he's acting like the CEO in front of me too. After the death of our parent's grandpa wanted us to take over the company but I hate business so Zach manages most of the stuff for me but still, I'm the vice president after the president - my grandpa Charles.

I took a bath and got ready for the day in a white crop top and black jagging with sports shoes, and jogged to the dining room. I greet my grandpa and did my breakfast and hurried to the car parked outside grabbing my backpack. I sat in the back seat with my brother and he told the driver to take me to the Westside Boxing club first and then he'll go to the company. Even though Zach manages the company but being the Vice president I have to attend meetings and attend the company. Since I was 7 and Zach was 5, grandpa made us study business and logistics. He asked us to quit from studies to run the company but I wanted to study and learn boxing as I was very interested in it since I was very young but Zach asked to manage most of the stuff of the company so that I can carry on with my studies. However, he gave up his studies being the CEO of one of the top 10 companies in the country and raised the company's performance. But no one knows my street racing side. I love doing it and I don't to be interfered. Right now, I took a few days off from that stuff because of that goddamn company of grandpa.

Street is my only hope for fun and energy and where I can be myself.

"Just to tell you, grandpa's friend will be collaborating in the company's project and as the VP you have to work with his son. He's maybe a year older than you." Zach says.

"18? he's working in his father's company at a young age?"

"Yeah, his father wants him to succeed in his company."

"Okay. I'll meet him anytime later." I said and put my headphones on. Son? I think kind of a guy could he be. Anyway, I'll be working with him so I can't ignore it. Most of the time I ignore boys who try to talk to me but I now have to work with him together.

"Jan, we've arrived." My brother tells me and I get out of the car grabbing my backpack and heads to the entrance of the club.

It's just 05:15 in the morning as I walked inside. Zach normally goes to the company around 9 am but he has a little more work to do as he says to do so he arrived early today.

I walk inside and welcomed by the staring eyes of my fellow clubmates. Passing through them I saw my best friend Melissa talking to a girl. We both go to the same boxing club as well as school. It's currently 05:15 in the morning and only some people come to the club this time for warm-up exercise but I have to school too after this. I called Mel's name out.

"Here comes our queen!" She shouts from there and all the students started clapping and staring once again. Mel is also in our gang of street racing along with 6 boys and 2 girls apart from me and Mel, in total we are 11. I heard some boys whistling by the entrance, as I turned my head towards them they immediately looked somewhere else and walked away. Okay, I'm not appreciating myself but I'm called 'The Queen' being the top athlete of the best club of the country.

"What are you thinking?" Mel asks me breaking my thoughts. "Nothing" I replied and dropped my backpack in the corner. We both practiced sparring and roundhouse kicks. After the continuous practice of one and a half hours, we went out in the yard where like more than 200 students were practicing. We were sitting on the bench when a message popped up on everyone's phone. I checked it out, it was from director John telling us about the upcoming boxing competition. We were already informed about it for a long time but the date of the preliminaries was not decided.

"We have only a week left," Mel says reading the message.

"It doesn't matter. You know we don't have to take part in the preliminaries." I told her and shoved my phone in my pocket. Director told the top three athletes not to take part in the preliminaries or most students will withdraw themselves from the competition watching our fighting style. Being the top 2 athletes we will not take part in the preliminaries, the 3rd athlete is a girl named Marie something from our Westside Taekwondo Club. Mayweather boxing club will be taking part in this competition and in the finals, an athlete from our Westside club who will win the semi-finals will fight against the one athlete of the Mayweather club who will win the semi-finals.

"Yeah, if director John hasn't asked us not to take part in the preliminaries most students must have withdrawn themselves from the competition just because they don't want to get beaten up to death by you."

"I don't beat people to death. They hardly can stand one minute against me." I defended myself.

"That's true too. Okay, let's go 30 minutes for school to start. Hurry take a shower, we're covered in sweat."

"Is it 06:45 already?" I asked as I stand up with her. "Yes, now got your butt moving Queen." She said as she started moving.

"Wait, I'm coming."
