Chapter 26
"Eat more, little cub." Leon said to Leonna while cutting the stake in front of him and feeding it to her.
Leonna on the other hand kept on dodging Leon's hand, refusing to eat the piece of stake.
"I'm full~" Leonna whine as she push Leon's hand away from her mouth.
"Just one more bite." Leon said trying to convince Leonna to take one more bite.
At the End Leonna yield and took the bite despite her stomach almost exploding. Leon smiled and patted her on the head.
"Ehem."
Leon switch his attention from Leonna to the person in front of him.
"Lady Leonna, how are you feeling?" Emperor Maximus asked.
"good." Leonna answered wearily. Maximus showed Leonna his perfect white teeth, smiling so brightly.
"That's good to hear." Maximus stated, Leonna nodded in response.
For some reason Leon has a bad feeling about Maximus's smile.
"Did you like the food my lady?" Maximus ask Leonna once again.
"Its delicious your highness." Leonna said.
"You can call me uncle Maximus although I prefer Father-in-law instead." Maximus said half jokingly half serious.
Before anyone could even comprehend what was happening the long table started shaking and utensils are flying everywhere.
Leon was releasing this menacing aura all pointed toward Emperor Maximus.
"What did you just say?" Leon asked with his eyes glowing gold in anger and his mist almost entirely covering the dining area.
"Your highness!" Dozens of Knights burst through the door as soon as they felt Leon's murderous aura.
Maximus raise his hand to stop his knights.
"Stop." Maximus ordered his knights.
"But your highne-"
Maximus looked at his knights with firmness and authority making the knights flinch.
They immediately lowered their weapons, "yes your highness." The knights stated as they bow.
Leonna glance at Leon, and he was still raging mad.
"Dad?" Leonna called Leon, but Leon didnt answer.
"I'm joking ok? It was a joke." Maximus stated while rolling his eyes to the air.
Leon immediately retracted his mist and in just a matter of second everything was back to normal like nothing ever happened.
The table stopped shaking, the plates and other utensils are back to their normal positions.
"That wasn't a good joke your highness." Leon said nonchalantly while giving Leonna a cookie from the table.
"Ha! For your information Grand Duke my son is the most handsome man in the seven kingdom! He's smart too! And good at sword, and he's got a big heart! He is a true Emperor in the making." With chest puffed out and head held high Maximus boasted about his son.
Leon was not at the very least impressed. "No one is good enough for Leonna." Leon said firmly.
"Tsk." Maximus click his tongue in annoyance.
"Fine, lets talk about business." Maximus said.
Before Maximus could continue his sentence a sudden knock on the door caught everyone's attention.
Then a child, exactly fifteen years of age entered the dining hall.
With his brown chocolate skin, grass colored eyes, pointed nose, thin lips, broad chest and a well-built physical body.
One look and you know who exactly this is.
"Greetings Father, I was told you were looking for me??" Prince Kaleb stated with his crooked beautiful smile.
"Ah! My son! Good you're here." Maximus beam in happiness.
Kaleb immediately gasp in surprise, his eyes widen and jaw gap open.
He couldn't believe what or who he was seeing right now. Just by their peculiar hair and eyes color, it instantly click to him.
"Viostas." He mumbled underneath his breath.
"Greetings to the Grand Duke of the Ruby Kingdom." Kaleb said while bowing to the Grand duke in respect.
He then turned his head to his father once again.
"Son, I would like you to meet Grand Duke Leon's daughter." Maximus said, immediately Both Leon and Leonna Flinched in shock.
Prince Kaleb then focused his attention to the little red haired lady on the Duke's lap.
He smiled at her and bowed. "Greetings to you my lady, my name is Kaleb, first Prince of the Musgravite kingdom."
Leonna then looked at her dad who was fuming mad. She has a little apprehensive if she would greet the prince back.
In the end she just looked at Kaleb with emotionless face and nodded in response.
Leonna could feel her dad's intense dagger stare at the young Prince.
"Lady Leonna, why don't you go with my son? Me and your father have something important to discuss." Maximus said.
Leonna felt Leon's arms hugged her tightly. Not wanting to let her go.
"No. She's not going with your son." Leon said firmly.
Maximus smiled wearily at Leon "Come on Grand Duke, I don't think its appropriate for a child to hear our conversation. Don't you think so?"
Leonna looked at her father, slightly curious at what the Emperor means.
[What is it that they're going to talk about that I can't hear? ] Leonna thought.
Leon took a minute to really think about what Maximus said.
He then took a big flat sigh before before looking at Maximus menacingly.
"If your son does anything to Leonna, I swear I'll destroy this forsaken kingdom." Leon said in a serious cold tone.
Upon hearing this Prince Kaleb, Maximus and even Leonna felt the hair at the back of their neck stood up.
They knew...Leon was serious.
Maximus tried to laugh it off trying to hide the fact that he too felt intimidated.
"Don't worry, my son would just give her a tour of our castle. Right Kaleb?" Maximus stated.
"Y-yes sir." Kaleb responded nervously.
[A tour of the castle?! That sounds fun!] Leonna thought excitedly.
Leon then grab Leonna by the waist and gently put her down.
"Little cub, why don't you go with him for a minute? I just need to talk to the Emperor alone." Leon said.
Leonna nodded in response, before walking towards the Prince.
"Lady Leonna, shall we go?" Prince Kaleb asked he bowed ninety degree and offered his hand to Leonna.
"Either you stay six feet apart from my daughter or I'll make sure you'll be six feet under by the end of the day Prince Kaleb." Leon said warning Kaleb.
Immediately Kaleb retracted his hand and maintain his distance from Leonna.
Maximus chuckled at his son's action.
"Go on, The Grand Duke and I have something important to discuss." Maximus said, both Leonna and Kaleb walk out of the dining hall.
When it was the two of them, Kaleb felt awkward. He didn't know what to do or what to say.
He cough a few times to regain his composure.
"Lady Leonna, I'll assign a knight to give you a tour to the castle, forgive me but I have something important to do." Kaleb said, which surprises Leonna.
"What that may be?" Leonna asked in confusion.
"To be honest I rather be in training right now than touring you to the castle." Kaleb said honestly.
[Two face.] Leonna thought.
"Then take me to your training."
Kaleb was caught off guard at Leonna's request.
"You want to go to the training ground?" Kaleb asked once again.
"Yes." Leonna answered firmly, then
"Why?" Kaleb asked in curiosity.
"Why not?" Leonna retaliated.
Kaleb was surprised at Leonna's wittiness, he couldn't help but laughed.
"Fine, I'll show you to the training ground." Kaleb said, he then grab Leonna by the hand and continued to drag her.
While they were running, Leonna took a look at her hand that was being drag by Kaleb.
She didn't like it.
"You know my dad is going to kill you for touching me." Leonna said.
Kaleb looked at her and smiled "I'll take my chances." He said then winked at her.
For some reason it made Leonna laughed.
When they arrived at the training ground, Leonna was amazed at how lively the training ground is.
The knights were laughing and having fun.
"Tada! What do you think? Pretty cool isn't it?" Kaleb said stretching his arms wide as if presenting something to Leonna, he was full of pride and confidence in his training ground.
"Yeah. Its so lively." Leonna said in full awe.
"Well of course its lively during this time of the year. Its almost time for the hunting tournament!" Kaleb said in excitement.
"Hunting tournament? What's that?"
