Chapter 3 - II

Hearing the new I quickly rush home to meet mother, which I quickly grab there attention. While receiving annoyed look and them trying to shoo me away I presume to tell them. "No! It's really important!" She looks at me and fumes. "Your already late for making dinner! So what's more important than feeding us!"

I question about telling her about it but I know deep down I could never do that. "While I was in town the King messenger send word that every maiden is allowed to attend a royal ball! Oh and Lucas is able to attend as well." I twirl with excitement and go on. "You can even get a chance to meet the prince Fae and the best part is that it last for three days!"

My mother and Fae stare at me in shock as they process the words I spoke. "M-meet the PRINCE! OH MY! DID YOU HEAR THAT MOTHER!" She jumps up and runs around the room. "Can't you just imagine it. Me and the Prince." She falls back on the couch with her hand on her head squealing with delight.

"Y/n go start dinner." I look at my mother and nod with a smile. "Yes ma'am!" I quickly head away while my mother smirks thinking away.

After returning, I served my mother and sister there plates which only left Lucas plate. I didn't wanna see him but mother would be angry if I didn't serve him. I slowly approached him and served him without saying a word.

In my surprise he didn't do anything, he left me alone. As I turned around to eat in the kitchen a voice spoke up. "I'm not eating this." I turn around to see my brother push his plate away and get up. My mother quickly glared at me which made me panic.

"Would you like me to make you something else?" I go over to the table and grab his plate. He looks at me with no expression and sighs. "I wanna see what there is to eat." My mother stands up as well with a hint of angry coming out.

"Your not allowed in the kitchen. That's Y/n place to work." He looks at her annoyed and scoffs. "I'll get out after I tell her what I want. There's no point if she don't have it." Our mother scoofs in return and continue to eat her food. "Make it quick."

He follows me to the kitchen and begins to search the cabinets. "Hey dummy! Your well organized in here." I look at him messing up my cabinets and sigh. "They were."

He looks at me and quickly looks away. 'Is Lucas face red' I walk closer to him and touch his shoulder. "Are you okay?" I hear him growl low before he pushes me away. "Your such an idiot! Why are you always nice to me. To us!"

I look at him and I begin to think of the alley incident. "I may not like the way you all treat me sometimes but..." I look up at him and smile. "But my father wanted you guy apart of are lives and no matter what, he believes you all where good until the end. So I'm doing this for him because he believes that were family and I wanna believe it too."

He looks at me only growing angrier, but it doesn't seem it was directed towards me. He quickly walks passes me and grabs his original plate. "Your a strange one"

I look at him confused as he leaves the kitchen, but the thought was taken away by my growling stomach. "I guess it's time to eat."

The next morning I found myself walking towards the kitchen for breakfast. "I should reorganize again." I sigh as I go to the cabinet, but to my surprise it was already fixed. I also found the same apple I was gonna eat yesterday with a note attached to it.

'I'm sorry about yesterday. Here's your stupid apple.' I smile at the note. It hurt that he did that to me but he must of had a motive. Although it's a bad one knowing him.

I quickly exit the kitchen with a nice set of fluffy pancakes. "Oh my favorite!" Fae yelps and she immediately munches down on them. "Y/n! We're going shopping today so you have to come with us!" Fae says with her mouth full which makes her mother snap.

"Fae! If you want the prince you have to watch how you eat." She flinches and sighs pushing the pancakes away. I look at her worried and speak "You can always finish them. Your already pretty enough as it is!"

She looks at me and scoffs. "Don't say things I already know! I don't want my beloved prince seeing me stuffing my face full of fat. For dinner I expect something healthier and not filling for me."

I frown a little feeling bad for her.

"Y/n hurry and get the carriage ready."
