Sam and the rest all went to the examination ground the principal came up to address the year four students. Hello students, this year examination will be a little different from the last and also different from those taken by your juniors. The exam would have been a free for all but to reduce the chaos such arrangement will cause it going to be a battle of twenty students the last man standing wins in each group the remaining people will also be grouped according to their performance. You might be ever to know the reason for such arrangement, from your year four you will mostly spend your time outside the school with your teachers, hunting spirit beasts or being attacked by other cultivators. You will at no time expect it to be a one on one fight as you will on some occasions be outnumbered, live is not a bed of roses and no wrong or right in the cultivation world as long as you get your result so for that their is no restriction both on bloodline and any other technique. Now there are over a hundred group and five platforms set up. You have all been grouped and posted on the notice board we will give you time to check your group and the number of your group. The group's will be called by number once your number is called those in the group would take the stage pointed out to them and start their battle. There will be no specific order of calling the number so listen for the numbers at all time. I wish you the best.
Sam checked and was in the thirteenth group Luke was in group one, Steve in group forty seven and Vera in group one hundred and three. Groups were called to occupy the five stages and the signal was given for the battle yo commence. Luke was surprised his group was not called Sam really read the situation well, imagine we didn't prepare for a group battle, I do not even want to think about the outcome. The battle was messy at first as all they have ever engaged in was a one on one fight. As time went on the fights one each stage took an intresting turn. Those who had been attacked from the back during the chaos learnt to always watch their back while those who where not attacked learnt from the experience of those attacked Sam and his group took note of that to always guard their back. People were sent flying from the stage they were all surprised which of the stage to focus on but it wasn't hard for the teachers and principal before long there was a winner on one of the stages and Lukes group was called.
Luke had some of the geniuses in year three in his group so he knew the battle would not be easy. Luke had to use the movement technique Sam gave him if he must succeed, he took out his sword and stood at the edge of the platform, he didn't want to be attacked from the back. He was immediately attacked by two students been someone who had fought against spirit beast and had practise matches with Sam so he could take on two opponents at once. The sword technique Sam gave Luke also had little to no flaw, under two seconds the two opponents where blown out of the stage. Luke was thinking that the examination would be easy for him only to look up and see a student outperforming him, the student sent three opponent flying out of the rings that left Luke with four more opponent to face. Luke was troubled, it looks like there are more talented individuals in year three than I thought. If Sam had not given me that sword technique I would have been defeated easily today.
Luke was troubled because he now had two more opponent to beat at once, they seem to see Luke as a much easier opponent to handle than the other genius. Unfortunately for Luke these two were also strong. They rushed at Luke mixing their element into their attack. Luke was on the defensive he doesn't know what his strongest opponent will bring to the fight so he decided to conserve his energy. Luke could only rely on his sword technique and movement technique. Luke was so fast when he activated the cloud step it was as if he had disappeared from from where he was and appeared behind his opponent, Luke slashed the sword at his opponent using stage ten of level one technique but to his surprise it was blocked. Luke knew that this was trouble he quickly distanced himself using cloud steps. Luke could have easily defeated them using only cloud steps had he been prolificent in it, he can only use it while pausing inbetween.
Luke was a genius and that statement was not made lightly by those who called him genius. I think I will have to use these two to perfect my cloud steps, it will help me fight the main opponent of these round. Opposite of where Luke was engaged in a fight the person he saw as his main opponent was not having an easy time at all, the person he was fighting was very fast he was using a movement technique although inferior to cloud steps he seem to have mastered it more than Luke did cloud steps. Mike was pressured he was more worried about Luke he had heard about Luke and was worried of depleting his spiritual energy before facing Luke, he also noticed Luke trying to improve his cloud steps and succeeding little by little. He became enraged he was naturally fast and so did not learn any movement technique. He decided to finish the fight as soon as possible. Mike attacked using his saber, there was a lot of force behind the attack still his opponent was able to block it the fight became fast paced, Mike opponent could feel his hand becoming numb with every strike he defended against.
Luke was improving at a steady pace, he was fast enough now to defeat his opponents but he also know it wasn't enough for Mike so he kept practising cloud steps. Sam spoke to Steve it seems that great pressure brings out the best in cultivators, Steve was shaken because he understood what Sam was implying. Sam I now practise hard and no longer lazy why do you plan in putting into Luke's kind of situation, Sam denied immediately, I was only making a comment, most everything be related to you. Steve still shivered but had nothing to say. Ken laughed, [He is desperate to hang on to his life style he doesn't know that you all will spend your next couple of years in battle]. Suddenly on the platform, Luke and Mike sent their opponents flying at thesame time. When Luke turned his opponent extended his hand to shake him I am Mike, you most be Luke. It will be good for you to know who defeated you. Luke scoffed you will be weeping by the end of this match.
