Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

"Nakano? Where have you been?" I stopped when I heard that question. I turned around to face the bastard who have been my greatest enemy in my entire life.

"It's not your business, Daisuke." I said in a matter-of-fact voice. I continued walking to the headquarters and I stopped again when I heard him said,

"Hmm, ramen." I clenched my fist when he found out. How come? I made sure that there will be no traces left when I finished that bowl of ramen. I felt his presence on my back and my reflexes told my body to react. I immediately turned around and defended his punch using my hands, I turned his fist to the left and lifted my legs to his neck, making him locked up, then using my weight, I turned my head upside down making him lost his balance and ended up faced-down on the ground. I got up fast so I cannot join him.

I walked like nothing happened. "You know why I found out?" I turned to face him. "because of your emotions, Nakano. That's your weakness." I rolled my eyes.

"Uzai yaro." (douchebag).

I went to the lobby of headquarters and faced Shunsuke Watanabe, the Shategashira(Lieutenant) of the Sairento hanzai-sha division--one of Yakuza's families and the one that I worked in—and the father of that douchebag outside.

I bowed to give some respect. "Ohayo gozaimasu, Okyakusama."(Goodmorning,sir.) He did not answer so I just assumed that he just looked at me from head to toe, just like what he always do.

Betsu no uzai yaro. (Another douchebag.) I murmured in my head.

After that stupid bowing, I just stand straight in front of him. Not moving. Meeting his taunting gaze. We turned our head to the main door when someone opened it and there we saw his big-headed son, touching his back like he was in pain. His irritated face instantly vanished when he saw his father.

"Ohayo gozaimasu, Okyakusama." He uttered while making his 90 degrees bow. I just smirked and walked out. Not bothering to excuse myself from the sight of that stupid lieutenant.

I went to the campgrounds.

"Have you started?" I asked to Aika, a trained assassin like me. She met my eyes and said "Hai,oneesan."(Yes.) She bowed and continued, "I hope that no one noticed your ramen session." She whispered.

I groaned and looked away. "Daisuke did."

"That crazy bastard is really getting into your nerves. He thinks that he is your competitor. Weakshit." She retaliated. I smirked and looked at the children. It's a pity that half of these children will be dead after this session.

I picked the fishbowl containing their names and said while raising it, "Koko de taisen aite o sentaku shite kudasai." (Choose your opponent here.) "Kare ga atode shinde iru koto o kakuninshitekudasai." (Make sure he will be dead later.)

Seconds after, the children picked their opponent. Those privileged will be given the chance to pick their opponent. While the others, will just wait on who will attack them.

I saw a boy got teary-eyed and looked to a girl. I assumed they are friends and he needs to kill her.

I made face. That's what you get for being friendly, kiddo. No one is worth trusting here.

Aika whistled indicating that the fight is now starting. I saw kids attacked their opponent and I just watched them killing each other. I can't help but take a look at the kid who just cried a while ago. He is now talking to the girl and both of them are faced-down.

"What the hell are they doing?" Aika frowned and was about to reach those kids when I stopped her. "Let me."

I went to the children and faced them. "Nanishiteruno?"(What are you doing?) I asked with superiority. The boy faced me, frightened.

I raised one of my eyebrows. He blinked a couple of times and he sighed. "YA ne khochu drat'sya." (I don't want to fight.) I was shocked a bit when he spoke Russian. His face speaks Japanese but what he uttered is a different language. "Ty russkiy?" (You are Russian?). His eyes widened and looked at me. "ty mozhesh' govorit' na russkom?" (You can speak Russian?). I nodded. I once had a mission in Russia that's why I know how. Later on, he explained to me why they got here.

They are tourists from Russia and both of their families went here to have a vacation. They are full Japanese blood but Russian citizens. They were happily strolling Japan when a group of Yakuza kidnapped the two of them.

"my khotim ubezhat." (We want to run away.) The girl pleaded unto me. "pozhaluysta pomogite nam."(please help us.)

I sighed and closed my eyes. I know this will cause me death but I can't let these kids be like me. A murderer with no heart.

I looked at the exit and turned around to look at Aika. She was busy staring at the other children fighting. I faced the kids and pointed the exit. "videt',chto?" (see that?) They both looked at the exit and nodded. "begi tuda." (run to that.) and I captivated the eyes of the boy.

"ya budu zashchishchat' tebya" (I will protect you.)

I gave them my earpiece for us to communicate.

I turned around once again to look at Aika and when she's still busy observing to the other kids, I turned again to the kids and said, "idti." (Go.)

They instantaneously ran towards the exit and I followed them. I used my coat and arranged my angle so that I can block Aika's view towards the kids.

When they reached the exit, I turned left to just guard them from afar. When I saw 2 Yakuzas walking, I put my mask on and jumped unto them and used my legs to kick the first guy. When he was on the ground, I faced the second one who was about to punch me when I defended it using my arms and I held his and went to his underarm and bent myself downward making him lay on the ground.

On the other hand, the first guy is now holding me from the back making me locked up. I held his fingers and bent it outwards making him whimper in pain and I used my other hand to elbow him on his abdomen. I turned to face him and gave him punch on his face.

On my peripheral view, I saw the other guy stand up but still dizzy. I ran towards him and jumped unto his shoulder and kicked the first guy who was about to stand up and I encircled my body on the trunk of the second guy punching him and making him dizzy. I held his head and I sit on the ground with his head kissing the soil.

When I raised my head, I saw the kids ran towards the viewpoint of the guard, "povernut nalevo." (turn left.) I ordered to the boy. When I saw them turning left, I immediately run towards the guardhouse.

"prodolzhat' rabotat'" (keep running.) I said to the kids while I, too, is running. When I reached the viewpoint, the guard already noticed the kids and was about to call someone when I punched his head making him dead on the spot. I saw the kids are getting close to the centerpoint.

I followed them but still vigilant.

When they reached the centerpoint, I showed up on their front. They were panting their breaths and soaked with sweat.

"teper' ty v bezopasnosti."(You're safe now.) I uttered.

They looked at each other and cried. "blagodaryu vas." (Thank you.) The boy faced me while hugging the girl.

I did not react. I pointed the police station. "idi tuda."(go there.)

"skazhi im, chto ty poteryan." (tell them you're lost.) I said while getting the earpiece from his ear.

I told them what to say and what to not. They both agreed.

I was about to get up when they both hugged me. I was stunned by their actions. Never in my entire life I've been hugged by anyone. Although it's not my first time to save someone, it's my first time to get this kind of appreciation.

"ty geroy." (You are our hero.) uttered by the boy.

I directly pulled from their hug and tell them to go to the police station faster. I watch them until they entered the office then I turned around.

geroy? I smirked with the thought. How come a murderer like me can be a hero? I'm no worthy of that title.

A hero is someone who will defend all people, and not a person who works for the nasty syndicate who kills hundreds of lives.
