Today was my wedding and my nerves were killing me and I know I shouldn't say this but I hoped Earl was in the same condition I was. Hoping that I don't mess up by tripping when I walk, I silently prayed for everything to fine.
"Hey sis, looking good and you are done I guess, since I am here to take you to father. It is time"
"Thanks, Adam but my nerves are not at their best, I feel like I'm going to faint"
"Come on you look good and this is your day just try not to embarrass yourself and think of it as you addressing many of your employees at a meeting"
"What are you even talking about?"
"Honestly I don't know, just be you and don't worry you will be fine"
Well, this was better than the earlier prep talk seeing as it made no sense, the hairdresser and the make-up artist were now touching up because Adam was here to take me to father who was walking me down the aisle.
I gave him my hand and he walked me out, the wedding was at Earl's parents' house and it was fine by me as their house was big enough for a couple of hundred guests. It was mostly family, friends and some business associates of the family who were more than happy to attend.
I remember the day the news broke out to the public about my aunt, for me it was devastating to know that the only person related to me by blood could do all this just because of money. I was also thankful for my father who took my dreams seriously and investigated it, if it wasn't for him I would not be here with my brother and as much as I didn't want to say thanks to Seb I had to.
But for him there is always mischief and fun because immediately the words left my mouth I regretted it, I couldn't take it back so I did the one thing I'm best at when arguing with him, prank, a good old prank and mischief on my part and it was the remedy I needed. Remembering all this made me laugh getting Adam's attention.
"What's funny?" he asked
I shook my head nothing and he nodded at me though not fully accepting the answer, he chose to shrug it off.
Having to face the media as one of the mostpowerful families in the country about the incident, the step forward forthe Williams Company and mine and Adam's life was not easy but with the constant support from my loved ones, it wasn't that bad. It took time, patience and courage for both of us to make the decision.
Father and I always knew Seb never wanted anything to do with heading the company other than help, it was up to Adam and me to decide. Adam chose to stay in the UK and seeing that I was getting married in NY where our family's company was so I took over it, father was fine with the decision and proud of us.
"Sweetheart you look stunning" I was brought out of my thoughts with my father's voice.
"Thanks, father, so how about we get this over with"
Both father and Adam laughed at how excited I was but I was mostly hiding those nerves that were trying to make me paralyzed. We stood in front of the doors that led to the back yard where the setting was and where I would be marrying the man I love and the father of our son.
I clutched hard on fathers hand when the music started playing and I bet I hurt father's arm because he decided we could have a chat while we walked.
"Ow child, no need to break my arm"
"Sorry but I am afraid I might trip and fall, then embarrass myself in front of this entire people" we were now whispering at each other.
"You will be fine as you can see I am holding you. If I were you I would look ahead because it seems like you are not the only one nervous and you are lucky you have a veil over your head and it's covering your face, he doesn't"
Meanwhile, Kathy got the chance and help from her father to calm down Earl, was being drained by his friend's constant remarks.
"Man you look like you are about to faint," Ethan said
"Guys stop it let the man be" Luke whispered back to the laughing brothers who were enjoying whatever was happening to their friend.
Was Earl nervous? Yes, he was but that wasn't in his mind at the moment because his eyes, thoughts, and mind were on one person, the woman in white. She was murmuring with her father laughing together, he already knew she would look beautiful but even his thoughts did no justice to her beauty now that she was here.
He always told her how beautiful she was and took every chance he got to say it all over again, she never bothered with her looks or even how she got everyone's attention especially the males with even the slightest gesture she made.
She was his angel and queen, he wanted nothing more than to have her for himself forever in his life, selfish much? Yes but he didn't care, she was his, only his.
He was back to reality when he heard his father-in-law call him, he handed his daughter over and they shook hands before hugging and he left to take his seat
The minister conducting the ceremony had already begun his speech by welcoming everyone to the wedding but the two people who were the guests of honor at their wedding decided to mute him the moment they locked eyes.
Their eyes held so many emotions from love to joy, happiness, and excitement they were lost in their world where they were the only people in it, and just like that every single person present started vanishing one by one and before they knew it they both leaned in for a kiss, which had everyone erupt in laughter.
Looking at each other confused after pulling apart they both turned to their friends to find out what happened.
"Luke, why are you all laughing" asked a very confused Earl and Kathy also turned to Luke to hear the answer because her own best friend was still laughing
"You two, basically tuned everyone out, the priest here tried getting your attention but he wasn't able to, then you both went ahead and shared a kiss before the I do part"
He shrugged then smiled and turned to his bride who was now blushing, he laughed it off and apologized stating he was distracted and allowed the priest to continue.
If the laughter wasn't enough from the guests then they got the chance to again, at Kathy's tomato face who hugged Earl fast out of embarrassment. The awe's and claps could be heard but she wasn't going to lift her head, in the end, she did when they let the priest continue with the ceremony.
She threw a glare at her best friend who decided to make fun of her by making kissing faces and all this while the ceremony proceeded.
After their vows and officially becoming husband and wife, they took the fun at the ballroom where everybody had a great time. Their first dance as a married couple was slow and intimate mostly because of the song which was chosen by their friends.
Let's not forget the games at the wedding and the throwing of the bride's bouquet which as you guessed landed on Carol and the bride's garter on Adam.
The guests got to continue partying and havingfun but for the newlywed, they had a late-night flight to catch to theirhoneymoon destination. They left after thanking everybody present and sayinggoodbye to their son, it was hard for Kathy to leave because she had never been away for long from him but seeing that he was happy for them and the fact he would be staying with his grandparents she was at peace and okay with it.
She smiles,
as she walks down the aisle,
to the man she loves.
In a tux in all his glory,
dashing as always.
Destiny as one, sealed.
He waits on her patiently,
though nervous, he smiles at his bride,
she looks to perfection,
more like an Angel than a queen.
She smiles at him,
his heart flutters with strong feelings.
The heart that once bled,
is now healed.
Man who shattered her,
put her back together.
It no longer bleeds,
for it found love and happiness amidst all.
