Lecture Hall Scene
"NATASHA HARPER!!" shouted someone, causing the entire hall went silent. "Natasha! Wake up." a female voice whispered in my ear. Not knowingly, someone pinched my left ear harshly. "OUCH!" I yelped in pain after waking up from my sleep. "What do you want, Maria?" I asked angrily when I know it was her who pinched my ear. "Mr Arnold is angry at you!" whispered Maria with her face looking at the front. I looked in front and the entire hall stared at me and Mr Arnold...glared at me. I stood and gulped nervously when Mr Arnold threw his book on the table. Pity the table, sir. "How was your sleep, Miss Harper?" asked Mr Arnold sarcastically with his arms folded. The entire hall giggled. "It was an uncomfortable sleep, sir," I answered, pouting as I felt annoyed by his question. "It would make you comfortable if you bring your pillow and your blanket for your next lesson, Miss Harper," said Mr Arnold sarcastically again. The entire hall laughed. My cheeks went red as I felt embarrassed. "Silence!" shouted Mr Arnold, quietened the entire hall. I sighed relieved but it won't last long. "Miss Harper, would you please explain what causes GBS or known as Guillain-Barre Syndrome?" asked Mr Arnold. The entire hall stared at me. That's easy! "Most commonly, infection with campylobacter, a type of bacteria often found in undercooked poultry but Influenza Virus, Cytomegalovirus, Epstein-Barr virus, Zika virus, Hepatitis A, B, C and E, HIV or AIDS and Mycoplasma pneumonia," I answered which to my surprise, the answer was already written on the board. Did he notice it? He gave me a satisfied smile and complimented: "Impressive as usual from a remarkable student like you, Miss Harper." In your face, Mr Arnold! "You may sit down," instructed Mr Arnold. I smiled victoriously as I sat down. "Wipe that smile off from your face, Miss Harper," said Mr Arnold. "Meet me after the lesson." he continued. Uh oh, my life is doomed! I nodded my head and we back to our lesson.
1 hour later...
"Don't forget to submit your assignment tomorrow," Mr Arnold reminded. "You may leave the hall except for Miss Natasha." continued him. I got some stares from my colleagues. Some of them wished me good luck and some of them even made a 'You're dead' sign. With a heavy sigh, I packed my things and headed towards Mr Arnold. "Miss Harper, there is a reason on why I would like to see you," said Mr Arnold with his strict demeanour as usual. I gulped nervously. "The reason is I would like to give you a warning for sleeping during my lesson." continued him. God, help me from this! "If you sleep during my lesson again, I will deduct your assignment mark," warned Mr Arnold. I gave him a sheepish smile and apologized. "You may leave and I hope you don't forget about my warning," told Mr Arnold. I nodded and left the hall.
"Did he get angry at you?" asked Maria who was leaning against the wall when I exited the hall. I shook my head, responding to her question. "You can't blame him since he worries his best student might become a failure," told Maria. "You're right, Maria," I replied to her then looked up at the blue skies...My name is Natasha Harper and this year is my senior year. Mostly everyone calls me Natasha except for my best friends and... Mr Arnold which they have made some nicknames for me. Taking 5 courses, tons of assignments and no break during weekends are not my choices. But what can I do? They are my chance to apply to a medical school. "Why're you smiling like a creep?" joking Maria, intimating my smug smile. I chuckled at her 'my smug smile'. Maria Hughes, one of my best friends and roommates. We met during freshman year. At first, I thought she was antagonistic towards others since she spent her time alone all the time but it turns out she's a friendly clown! She's great in comforting others by making jokes and a great listener which I'm lucky to have her. "Let's go buy some snacks, my treat!" exclaimed Maria. "Free food? Okay!" I yelled as I could hardly contain my happiness, making her chuckled. As we were walking, I heard someone was playing the piano from the music facilities. "Did you hear it?" I asked Maria. "The music? He played the piano almost every day," replied Maria. "Who is he?" I asked her with my mind fills with curiosity. "I don't know but I heard he's Austrian who's taking music course," replied Maria. I looked at the door of the music facilities...somehow my intuition told me to open the door. "What are you waiting for? Let's go!" whimpered Maria. "You should go first, I have to take care of something," I reassured. Maria sighed and left me alone. I looked back at the door. Is it okay to interrupt him? I slowly opened the door and all I could see was a fair skin man with his natural brown crop haircut, wearing a black sweater and a pair of denim jeans. The way he played the piano was so cool...he was just like a professional pianist. He can become a famous pianist in his country one day. He kept on playing his piano...did he notices me? "Hello," I greeted the mysterious man. All of a sudden, the man stopped. Then, he looked at me. "I am Natasha and you are?" I asked. He didn't react except for his hazel brown eyes which were staring at me. That's very creepy but being stared by a handsome man, it's my lucky day! "Ahem" I coughed, trying to get his attention. "Wunderschöner Engel," uttered the mysterious man with his strong German accent. What did he say? "I beg your pardon but I'm afraid I didn't catch that since I don't speak your language," I stated politely so he can translate what he said just now. "You don't speak German?" asked the mysterious man. I shook my head. Then, we went silent. "What brings you here?" asked the mysterious man, breaking the moment of silence. "I would love to know you better," I replied. "Don't you have anything to do instead of talking to me?!" yelled the mysterious man all of a sudden. I was shocked...I'm just trying to be friendly to him. "Why are you yelling at me? I just want to be your friend," I explained, hoping he wouldn't mad at me. "You are disturbing my peace and my music!" scolded the Austrian man to me. It is true I interrupted him 2 minutes ago but can't he at least be friendly? "I deeply apologize for interrupting your time," I apologized, trying to stay calm even though my heart is in a state of rage right now. I took my things and as I was about to leave the room, he said:
"My name is Lukas Gruber,"
