Chapter 3 - red cloud sect

" you .. come here " elder fang pointed a finger at ken who was clearly surprised by the sudden call as he couldn't guess fang's purpose. after all what could possibly he want from ken who had the weakest spirit roots and haven't even started cultivating yet . still he knew that it was not wise to offend elder fang and make him wait because he knew the importance of connections . so he quickly ran at fang's side at full speed and arrived in seconds because he was standing just few 10s meters away .

ken was surprised because fang smiled and started patting his head suddenly like praising a small child for something . " kid what's your name ? "

" my name is ken , greeting elder ! " ken bowed to display his manners and attitude as he knew that fang must be someone powerful in the sect because he was so strong to subdue an adult flaming eagle which looked to be more than 350 years old . yes ken had gained supreme knowledge about beasts , herbs etc so it was easy for him to guess the identity of the beast and even the rough age form watching its body's development .

" what a well mannered child . hmm.. boy you really dont look like someone from a good family. looks like you are an intelligent kid . "

" I am an orphan sir. just learnt many small things from watching others .. " ken scratched his head in fake embarrassment like a young clueless child .

" ken , didnt you feel fear when you felt red fang's aura? I saw you smiling in excitement while other children were clearly feeling fear and some even wet their pants haha.. it's really fun to see this scene every 3 years after coming down here .."

ken gained an important piece of information that the sect must recruit disciples every 3 years from this city and elder fang must be the one in charge for many times now . but he didnt think much of why didnt he know about this notice three years ago ? as there can be many possibilities which he doesn't give shit about .

" elder , I was just excited because I can become strong and live longer . I heard from someone that cultivators are legendary figures who possess supernatural powers ." ken added legendary something to flatter fang indirectly as he could see that this old man loved to boast and receive praises .

" hahaha.. good kid ! you have heard right . I wont bother explaining now as you will know everything in near future anyway. come climb on red fang's back ,he will serve the ride to my red cloud sect ..hehehe.." fang shadowed a grin as he saw the fear on many children's face when he said to climb on red fang's back.

children climbed enduring the fear as city lord who was forgotten till now carried them himself who showed even a hint of reluctance. of course ken was too excited as the image of riding in an airplane was running inside his mind . fang whistled and the huge bird flapped his wings and started ascending vertically slowly. ken was sitting on his back while holding his smooth fur tight and his smile widened . ken felt the power that red fang was going to release and started laughing while his grip tightened more . sure enough a second later they were flying higher and higher and ken was laughing loudly while other children were screaming as the wind pressure was too much for them . fang was standing on red fang's head and glanced at Ken's who was laughing like a small child and had no trace of fear . fang smiled as he was reminded of his grandchild lin who was much similar to ken and loved to adventure and now he hadn't returned to the sect for a few months from his mission . so fang's smile was replaced with worry as he thought about his only grandchild .

after they had arrived thousands of meters in the sky , ken and many other children felt some kind of pressure which was different from the air because this one was too strong . fang didnt bother saying anything and ignored the cries of children who were in pain . this pain was nothing compared to the one ken had to endure due to that golden book so he was smiling and quickly realised the source.

ken had too much knowledge now so he easily understood that this was the barrier that separated the cultivation realm from the mortal realm . there was no spiritual energy on the mortal realm where they came from so they were feeling pain which came both from the barrier and the baptism of spiritual energy.

of course the body would feel pain when it hits a wall and stronger energy enters inside it. so ken closed his eyes and and felt the energy inside him because even if he had supreme knowledge about many things but he had to experience them himself .

Ken's mental energy was immense so he quickly saw that small strands of golden coloured energy were being absorbed inside his spirit routes and they were being expanded slowly and violently by the energy . the pain came from the expansion because Ken's spirit roots were of the worst quality and had long reached the limit of expansion before starting cultivating for real according to cultivation manuals . the other children who were not feeling any pain or just the minimum pain were the ones who were more talented ones in this batch .

after 20 or so minutes red fang had crossed the barrier as it had deliberately slowed down his speed because he was requested by fang to do so as he wanted to let children experience the baptism properly before entering the cultivation realm . ken had already felt the spiritual energy being absorbed inside his body but this time it was gentle as the baptism was over when they passed the barrier . his mental energy was too powerful so ken could extend it outside his body to see the surrounding spiritual energy but he refrained from doing so as fang would notice it instantly . the first cultivation realm was the qi condensation realm in which cultivators absorb the spiritual energy which comes into contact with their body and the mental energy becomes powerful enough to be extended outside the body normally when a cultivator reaches the 7 th level of the major realm . even the most talented cultivators can only extend their mental energy outside when they at least reach the 4 the level . so ken who can already extend his mental energy outside his body and even control it freely before even starting cultivating is way monstrous. ken knows that people's jealousy is is nothing good so he doesn't plan to show anyone that he is talented as his only talent right now is mental energy which is the most important requirement when it comes to alchemy and comprehending martial arts. he plans to lay low and show others that his talent is average while secretly refining pills for himself and practicing his martial arts .

" look children , that is the red cloud sect . haha.. I was also shocked when I saw this scenery for first time more than 150 years ago. " fang laughed and reminisced his past while ken finally opened his eyes after carefully planning his plan to keep his talents secret .

he was grinning now he could smell the scent of adventure which was radiating from the too big island from any ones he had seen on earth . right now they were crossing the sea and their destination was the huge island which they would reach in minutes with red fang's speed . at the front ken could see a city which looked much bigger in size than blue moon city and way luxurious. the houses and buildings were looking small right now but ken could see that they were bigger and the shine was different . of course because the materials from which they were built are too good in quality when compared to the blue moon city which only has mansions made of stone and decorated by normal colorful jade .

red fang quickly arrived before the huge gate which read RED CLOUD and stopped a hundred or so meters away from it . there was nobody except a beautiful lady wearing dark red robes who was coming in their direction outside the gates . ken could see many people wearing white robes inside the city and it was bustling much like the markets from earth . ken realised that fang had changed into same coloured red robes like the lady now and was walking in her direction.
