inside the blue moon city millions of people were busy with their daily lives . the culture was that of medieval times from earth so the roads were narrow and not well maintained . but people were used to the culture and lived their short lives trying their best to survive. wars were frequent in this world but the freed empire which ruled many cities and provinces of various size including this mid sized city blue moon , was at peace for more than fifty years now . freed empire had signed a peace agreement with neighbouring empires so unlike others their citizens were living much better lives due to increased trade and less bloodshed.
inside the city lord's mansion which was the largest stone building in the city , today the atmosphere was different than normal . thousands of children from 12 years to maximum 16 years of age were gathered up from all over the city under the notice issued from city lord himself . of course it was rare for the city lord to issue a notice himself because he would rarely do so only when there is an emergency like war or invasion threat . so from mouths of people the message was passed to almost all the citizens in just a day and children were sent here immediately . Many orphans were also present here now as they could be recognized easily from the crowd due to the difference in their clothing .
one young man called ken was also one of those orphans but unlike them his eyes showed wisdom . he was wearing a tattered yellow robe but from his demeanor alone one would mistake him for a child from a noble family who is trained in academics and ethics from small age . he was too confused by the sudden notice but chose to follow the instructions because he knew that if he was discovered later , the punishment would be severe . the city lord's words were the law so anyone disregarding them would face the punishment from guards of the mansion regardless of their age . even execution was not uncommon so the smart ken knew what was right for him .
in truth this average looking child was a reincarnator and former modern earthling . he was an explorer who visited dangerous or ancient areas as their job . ken was an orphan who was raised by an explorer so he just chose the profession as his job because he was entranced with the stories of adventures he listened to while growing up . ken visited Amazon forest , Sahara desert and even ancient pyramids but his death was an unnatural one .
one day when he was wandering alone inside the huge Sahara desert, he came across an ancient ruin . of course the blood of an explorer boiled so he entered inside . he only found a golden thick square shaped book of 1m in height . he couldn't read the strange language on the cover but something compelled him to open the huge ancient looking book . but just when he touched it , the book started glowing brightly . ken felt pain like his soul was attacked by millions of small sharp needles and only managed to grit his teeth and remain conscious for a second before his vision darkened .
the next thing he knew was that he had somehow arrived in this new world . he woke up in the small forest which was a few kilometers away from blue moon city and inside a completely different body of a 10 years old child . somehow he had new memories which belonged to the previous owner of this body so ken had no choice to believe that he had somehow woken up inside a new body and a new world .
the previous owner was an orphan with no name and had died inside the forest . his death was caused by injuring on his head which caused brain hemorrhage after hitting his head on the hard ground after falling down from a 10 or so meter long tree . it was unfortunate because the child had just climbed the tree for a fruit to fill his hungry stomach.
ken was an easygoing person so he relatively easily accepted his new reality and didnt bother thinking about the reason behind his transmigration because he already knew that it was related to the pain he felt after touching the ancient huge book . he lived inside the forest which only had some small snakes as the most dangerous animals inside it and lived by eating fruits and snake meat . being an explorer he had spent many nights in the wild so he had plenty of the experience needed . he then travelled to the blue moon city following the memories and arrived in just few hours . he adapted to the new culture afte a few days and started working in a small vegetable shop located inside the outer city. he was really satisfied with the new life as his days were peaceful but he also longed for some adventures after remembering his previous life .
after waiting for a few hours Adam was too shocked by watching a scene that completely shattered his world view . he was just blankly watching 3 middle aged men wearing pure white robes standing in the air and scanning the children with their eyes . ken wasn't the only one who was shocked because only the city lord was the one who looked undisturbed by the magical scene . but he had been kneeling on his right knee with his head down since the three people arrived .
ken managed to regain his senses after a minute but shock hadn't left him . he was smiling now because the adventure he longed for was near his reach now because his instincts were telling him so . ken decided to wait for the 3 men to clarify something because he had no idea about their identity and it was no use thinking about it . they just reminded him of the characters from anime he watched on TV as a kid on earth .
after a while the 3 men started pointing a fingure at some children one by one and city lord personally separated the pointed children from the crowd as his huge smile widened slightly with each increase in the number of children who were being pointed. ken could faintly guess that city lord would benefit somehow as clearly the children who were forming a line after separating from the crowd were handpicked by the 3 special men for something . ken was also chosen so he quietly joined the new line and waited for the explanation from the 3 men with supernatural powers .
from thousands of children only a total of 105 were chosen and the rest of the children were sent out of the mansion immediately after the last one was chosen . now only 105 confused children , 3 men who had landed on the ground now in front of the children and the city lord who was like a servant of the 3 men remained inside .
" cough .. no need to be confused young children . " the man in the middle suddenly spoke after looking at the 2 men standing at his two sides for a second like confirming something. he smiled and continued " you all are the lucky ones who will follow us to the Red Cloud Sect and embark on the road of cultivation . my name is .. forget it you can call me elder fang and I'm the one in charge of the mission to deliver you guys safely to the sect."
while children were confused or scared of leaving including ken who was lost in thought after hearing the word cultivation from elder fang's mouth , the elder put his fingers inside his mouth a whistled ignoring the gazes filled with questions that were directed at him . suddenly the ground started shaking and after a few seconds a huge bird landed in front of elder fang causing shock waves which caused the children to blow away .
ken managed to stabilize himself after retreating a few meters from his previous location and was awed when he took a properly look at the bird . it was more than 20 meters long red bird beast with huge wings . it was enjoying a little when fang was patting its head but ken didnt find it cute because he could feel huge energy coming from the bird's body that was suffocating him .
elder fang after glancing at the shocked children nodded in satisfaction and spoke with a sadistic smile on his face " this is my partner beast red fang . looks like you can feel some of his strenght as you cannot even stand properly under the his aura. well he is a heaven tier beast so if he wanted to kill you , a small breath would be more than sufficient so relax as he wont harm you guys ." after fang said that the tremendous pressure disappeared as the bird retracted his aura back but all the children were panting loudly trying to catch their breaths while looking at the huge bird with fear except ken who was too excited as he knew that adventures that were leagues better than he had experienced before were waiting for him in near future . he was the only one who had an excited smile on his face so elder fang was surprised and his evaluation for ken improved tremendously as he thought of Ken's courage which was one of the most basic and important requirements of a cultivator who defied the heavens to advance in realms ...
just when ken was calming down , he felt a little tremor inside his mind and his consciousness was sucked inside his mind forcefully by something . only his body without a conscious remained outside with a huge smile on its face and blank eyes ..
