"We have bacon, eggs, and pancakes. There are three flavors of pancakes, the first one is chocolate, regular, and blueberry. There is coffee and orange juice to drink along with fruits. The fruits are strawberries, bananas, raspberries, and black raspberries.", Tala finishes up, saying.
Everyone's mouths are open except Tala's mom's and Rex's.
"You did all this under an hour?", Rogue asks, shocked.
"Yeah, it's nothing special. Just some breakfast.", She answers as she blushes.
Everyone says thanks before digging into the food. All you can hear are the forks scraping the plates; it was a couple of minutes before Tala's mom started small talk.
"Tala, do you remember the place, I got you for your eighteenth birthday?"
"Yeah. Is off Freeman South and Clifford Point?", She says and asks.
"Yes. Did you pay for electricity?"
"Yeah. I also put food and anything else I needed in the kitchen already. The only thing I need to do is move my things from my room to the new place.", she answers while picking up her plate.
Everyone helps clean the mess; Tala's mom kisses her daughter's head, then Coreen, Rex, and mine. Rex and I already left the kitchen so they could have their alone time which leads us to Coreen talking Spike's ear off but it was a cute moment. We continue to have a conversation until twenty minutes later I notice Tala and Rogue.
"OMG! Are you two dating?!", I screams/ fangirls.
"Not yet. I have some things that need to be taken care of before we can date.", Rogue answers.
Tala glances around and sees her mother not here and then she notices Coreen crying. She beings comforting her which is really sweet.
"What's wrong baby girl?", She asks.
"Nothing. Why can't you date my big brother?", Coreen asks.
"Remember last night?", Tala asks softly.
"Yeah. Big brother was yelling… oh, it has something to do with that?", she says then asks.
Tala nods her head. "You'll be living with me so your brother can just worry about fixing the problem at hand.", she said.
Coreen hugs Tala tightly before running to her brother; once they leave it's just Rex, Tala, and me. Since it's just us, we can catch up on things we missed.
"So anything new?", Rex asks.
"Beside me needing a job?", Tala says sarcastically.
I burst out laughing then Tala does the same, and from there it a chain reaction. It takes a good minute or so before we could calm ourselves; it becomes quiet but none of us say anything since we like the silence. Plus this normally happens when we're together. Tala gets up and heads to the spare bedroom with us following.
"Are there any open spots at your work?", she asks.
"Not at the Animal Cafe.", I say.
"There's an open spot. It's to be a chief; I'll let my boss know that you want the job.", Rex says.
"Mm.", was the only reply.
She grabs as many as she can then heads to her room; we pretty much have to jog since she decided to speed walk. Once we make it to her room, she was already packing the bathroom while Rex and I did her room. We were almost finished when Tala's phone started going off which made her turn ghost. She just casually floats to her phone until she turns solid.
"Hello?", she answers.
"I'm… sorry but who are you?", she asks slightly freaking out.
"Look, I don't know you. And since I don't know you I'll be hanging up now.", she says snapping at the person.
"Putain, qui es-tu? Vous mettez la main sur ma mère et je vais vous mettre fin!(Who the fuck are you? You lay a hand on my mother and I will end you!)"
Tala drops her phone; Rex and I call out to her but it seemed that wasn't working so we quickly get to her as I call Rogue. Rex hugs her as she continues to fade in and out, which then I join. She looks up at us and gives us a small smile but it drops once she hears Rogue.
"Stay the fuck away from her! You already hurt her once and I won't let you do it a second time!"
Whoever is on the phone, is just making him more pissed. The aura around him turns dangerously dark which isn't good for the person on the phone.
"Avvicinati a lei e berrò fino all'ultima goccia finché non sarai solo un mucchio di ossa. Avrei dovuto sapere che non l'avresti lasciata sola, ma immagino che in quel momento fosse tutto quello che potevo sperare e ora sei tornato. Questa volta non ti lascerò avere Tala!"
Rex's eyes go wide and hold us in fear. We both glance at each other than look at Rogue then back at Rex. He looks at us and whispers, "He said come close to her and I'll drink every last drop until you're just a bunch of bones. I should have known you weren't going to leave her alone, but I guess at that moment that was all I could hope for and now you're back. This time I won't let you have Tala!"
"He really said that?", both of us asked.
"Yeah. Do you know him before?", I ask.
"Not that I can remember. The only person who even knows what happened that night is you guys and my mo- HOLY SHIT! Rogue is the boy from the park that night.", Tala says.
We both stare at her in complete loss; she makes her way to Rogue and buries her face into his chest. Which then leads to him lifting her chin up leans forward says something then kisses her. He wipes out his mouths before helping with the packing. We continue to pack everything but her bed, dresser, and any other heavy furniture. I make my way down the hall where most of the family pictures are at and whine; I feel Tala's arms wrap around me.
"What's the matter, Ang?", she asks softly.
"Are we going to grow apart?", I ask.
"No, Angie. I know we have a lot of memories here but this isn't the end of them. You have to remember, my mom still lives here. So you know what that means.",she tells me.
"Christmas with your mom.", I say with a smile.
"Yup, and that won't ever change. That's our holiday tradition.", she says with a smile.
I stop crying and turn around so we're hugging the normal way; we stay like that for a while until Rex comes and hug us. Laughing at our sunshine; we head outside with smiles on our faces. We see they put everything into vehicles and I head to Spike's truck while Rex follows Tala. Once I get to Spike's truck, I see him looking at his phone, but it doesn't take him long to look up from it. Smiling softly, I climb in; he turns on the truck and puts it in reverse but doesn't move. I was about to ask him why, but then I hear Tala.
"Hey, Ang. What are your plans now?", she asks.
"I think Spike and I are going to hangout after we help you unpack.", I say.
"Yeah, that will work.", she tells me, then she hugs me.
Once she leaves, Spike makes his way out of the driveway and toward the main road when I get a text from Tala.
{Hey, Ang. Do you know anyone by the name of Jareth?}- Tala
{Yeah, he's the guy who I liked. Why do you ask?}- Ang
{Because there's a girl asking me if I've seen her boyfriend. I found out his name and told her I would ask someone if they know.-} Tala.
{Oh. Well, I don't know where he is but let me ask Spike since they're friends, okay?}- Ang
{Sure}- Tala
"Hey, Spike, do you know where Jareth is? Selene wants to know since she's asking Tala and knowing her, she told her she would ask someone if they know.", I ask, then explain.
He shakes his head no, so I text her back saying no. It pretty much quiets until I realized he's stopping to get gas before we head to Tala's place.
