- Lucifer and Fensyr -
Some time had passed since Lucifer arrived back in Hell. Lucifer was currently eating a meal on the top of one of Hell's walls while looking out at the massive city below. He felt his echo recieving a call.
"Hello?"
"S'me," Fensyr grumbled.
"Xiao?" Lucifer perked up, thinking there was trouble in Han'ei.
"No!" Fensyr corrected. "Fensyr ya deaf--sorry, let me start over."
'What could this possibly be about?' Lucifer wondered as he took bites of his burrito.
Fensyr stammered, "Ya see I, well, my kind have been--are ya friends with Odin by chance?"
Lucifer coughed, nearly choking on his burrito before eventually swallowing it. "Why?"
Fensyr continued, "I need to travel to the N-H for business with Fenrir. The most reasonable access to Fenrir's territory is by going through Odin's. If ya aren't friends with Odin that's fine I'll just get a boat and-"
"Wait, wait," Lucifer tried to slow Fensyr down. "I am friendly with Odin but I'm going to need to hear more about what you're planning first."
"I'll explain the rest when we get there," Fensyr ended the call.
Lucifer looked down at his echo, mouth open with confusion. "What just..." he put his echo away and shook his head. "We?"
Lucifer took another bite from his burrito and did a long inhale through his nose followed by an even longer exhale.
- Death and Izanagi -
Death was watching a training session between Xiao's squad and Izanami from atop a balcony. Izanagi placed down a white bottle and two cups next to Death as he joined.
"Should be arriving about now," Izanagi poured himself a drink. "I appreciate you not telling Lucifer. I think it'll make the surprise all the better."
Death picked up the bottle and tilted his head back, waterfalling the clear liquid into his mouth for a few seconds before placing the bottle back down.
"You were quite the negotiator," Izanagi nervously chuckled. "It's not often that we ship that much black sand."
"Word of advice," Death seemingly ignored what Izanagi was saying. "Never tell Odin about what you two tried to do if you want to maintain trade relations with his territory."
Izanagi sipped from his cup. "I didn't know Odin was so close with Lucifer."
"He's not," Death sighed. "Or at least not to the extent you're thinking. I was referring to Odin's belief on Guest Law," he jumped onto the balcony railing and blinked down to the others.
- Satan -
Satan was sitting in a chair with an umbrella shading him. He was whistling as the main gate of Hell opened next to him. He stood up from the shaking chair and scratched the back of his neck. He signaled to a guard with his hand.
"Go tell Lucifer they're here."
- Satan, Fensyr, Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi -
"Fuck that thing is loud!" Fensyr complained as he poked the inside of his ear.
"I had heard stories of the sound from demons back home," Tsukuyomi looked up at the walls.
Amaterasu complained, "I would've stayed in wolf-form if I knew it was going to be so hot."
"Greetings!" Satan bowed to the three while creating a massive illusory banner above him that read "WELCOME TO HELL!"
Two massive crates floated behind Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi. The two crates were carried by Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi's rings. The crates slammed on the ground as the rings disappeared.
Fensyr spoke, "What's there to eat?"
Tsukuyomi joined in, "The main complaint I often hear from demons is their missing of Hell's many cuisines."
Satan laughed and then replaced the illusory banner's words, "I recommend Cuernos."
"Where's Lucifer?" Amaterasu groaned.
"Eager for a rematch?" Satan smirked.
"Maybe," Amaterasu mumbled. "But he is also the main reason we're even here. Is it true that he's friends with Odin? Seems like the-"
"Ask him yourself," Satan interrupted. "Lucifer enacted Seeker's privilege in regards to his time spent in the N-H. You do know what Seeker's privilege is, right?"
Amaterasu scowled, "I do, I'm just surprised you can be considered a Seeker, given the way you act."
Satan's smirk widened. "How I act? You mean how I tried to assassinate a friend that I was housing in my territory as a guest? Or was it that time I worked with an archangel to try and kill Lucifer and Death?"
Amaterasu's eyes slowly widened with anger.
Satan continued, "Or maybe it was using the lycans for my own entertainment?"
Amaterasu glared. "Maybe it was your loss at the hands of Finnabair?"
Satan clapped, "Very good! Tell me, does your knowledge of irrelevant history come from your complex about your mother and father, or do you just search for stories less important than your own? Because if it's the latter, then I must commend your struggle."
Fensyr whistled sharply and started to walk. "I'm fuckin' hungry, do this on your own fuckin' time!"
Tsukuyomi carefully placed his hand on Amaterasu's shoulder, "Perhaps we should eat first before getting into..." he looked from Satan's smile to Amaterasu's glare, "discussions of history..."
Amaterasu walked past Satan, her fists clenched.
"Feel free to ask for me if you have any questions!" Satan offered.
- Lucifer and Peter -
Lucifer and Peter were sitting at a restaurant table. The sign above the restaurant's main door read "Cuernos". A half-demon half-human waiter placed two plates of identical food down on the table.
"Which one has the extra yalapeños?" Peter asked.
"Peter," Lucifer said.
"Huh?" Peter realized. "Oh, I mean jalapeños, sorry. I've got Jötunheim on my mind."
The waiter pointed to the plate in front of Lucifer. Peter grabbed it and swapped it with his.
The waiter apologized for the mixup and left.
Lucifer shook his head. "I really should just order the same thing."
"How do ya think it went?" Peter asked before taking a bite of his food.
Lucifer shrugged. "We didn't hear news of a fight at the gates, so well enough, I guess."
Peter clicked his tongue. "The fuckin' nerve of Izanagi to pull somethin' like this! I get that the black sand is worth a fortune but still!"
"Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi weren't our enemies in Han'ei," Lucifer noted. "I'd find it far more suspicious if Susano'o was coming."
Peter shook his head with disagreement. "Yer just sayin' that because yer worried about talkin' with Fensyr. Ya don't want to start or participate in a fight."
"Can't blame me," Lucifer agreed. "It's not Fensyr's fault his kind connected themselves to Amaterasu."
Peter motioned to the side with his head. "Yer more patient than they deserve."
- Lucifer and Fensyr -
Peter took Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi with him to order more food. Fensyr was sitting across from Lucifer, tapping his finger on the table.
"Want some?" Lucifer pushed his plate towards Fensyr.
Fensyr looked down at the enchiladas, unsure of what to make of it. He grabbed a fork and took a bite of the food. He was surprised by the great taste but immediately started wincing.
"The fuck is in this?!" Fensyr started rapidly exhaling before taking another bite.
Lucifer covered his grin with his hand. "I guess I should have asked how well you can handle spice?"
Fensyr kept eating and finished off the glasses of water on the table. "I'm guessing you enjoy things extra spicy?"
"Yep," Lucifer placated. "Doesn't get much spicier than," he coughed to suppress a chuckle, "jalapeños."
Fensyr was suspicious of Lucifer's tone but decided to get to his main point.
"It's as I said over the echo: I have plans on visiting Fenrir for the sake of uniting the two factions in Vázoluna. I called Death initially but he said he was busy and mentioned that you might be able to help."
Lucifer leaned back and inquired, "How exactly will visiting Fenrir help you unite the two factions?"
Fensyr moved his upper lip, revealing one of his fangs. "A fang, a claw," he changed his finger into a claw and tapped his fang, "and a large bundle of fur. It's an old lycan offering that leaders would do for each other. If I bring those items back with Amaterasu, it'll be the start to the union."
Lucifer suggested, "Can't you just purchase the items? I'm sure there's something Fenrir would trade for?"
"Can't," Fensyr groaned. "The items have to be given to me in person to maintain tradition. My plan, assuming things fuckin' work, is going to the N-H, getting the items from Fenrir, returning to Vázoluna and paying a Seeker to confirm my actions."
Lucifer was skeptical, "What if your kind don't believe the Seeker? What if something happens while you're away? What if..." he paused, "What if you do all this but it still isn't enough to bring the factions together?"
Fensyr shrugged. "Then fuck 'em. Fuck Vázoluna, fuck the lycans outside of my family, fuck it all. I'm not doing this for the love of my kind, I'm doing it because I'm trying one last thing before giving up."
Fensyr rubbed his face, "I'm so tired. You know there's an old lycan saying, started by Vázo himself: Doomed is the wolf that becomes accustomed to tasting their kin's blood."
"Sorry," Lucifer empathized. "But I have to bring the point back up; what if something happens while you're gone?"
Fensyr picked at his teeth. "Won't happen. The journey would be considered a pilgrimage. Any lycan that attempted to seize power while I was gone wouldn't be accepted. Besides that, my family is more than capable of handling themselves."
"Still," Lucifer argued.
"And," Fensyr bit his nail, "those fucks know I'd burn the territory to the ground if they did anything."
Lucifer was so surprised by the statement that he accidentally changed the subject. "Why is Tsukuyomi with you?"
"Hmm?" Fensyr wondered. "Oh, the little moon is s'posed to be a gift from Han'ei. Something about you needing a proper guard?"
"I..." Lucifer sighed and rubbed his face.
