Kado called out his status window and he eyed a specific display of numbers that showed up in front of his face.
Damnit. He cussed to himself as though his hard effort didn't pay off doing the repeated task of slaying monsters off all day.
The sun was almost at its bottom setting, as the hue of orange and red covered most of the sky but still, all the day's worth of effort he only managed to slay with his barehands, were only 12 monsters today and 9 the other day. Although small, but it was nice progress he must acknowledge himself though It was far from enough. It wasn't even that kind of monsters you get in movies and novels as they were all typically huge and ferocious-looking beasts—These monsters he had been working up his blood and sweat painstakingly all day was just a bug type innocent-looking monsters in contrasts to their abnormally shocking strengths, that they were all as the size of a nail of a human finger. The worst part is after you can manage to kill one of them, these insects were only able to produce as much as point decimals Exp's, so much longer and far away than he initially expected from reaching his objective of slaying 2000 monsters and leveling up to complete it as Aion told him.
Why does it even have to be 2000 monsters... for my current progress, it would take days, weeks, or even months to accomplish this task. I need to think of a surreal plan to complete this as soon as possible. He thought tiredly while in a bed of grassy ground and some flowers surrounding him as he was panting heavily, resting.
If he has a sharp weapon, he thought things would get dramatically better and faster.
He recalled the time when Aion explained to him after first coming in this world called 'Lemongra'. It was a world where every candidate has to go through. It was like a starting point of any adventures as typically in games, but this was real and Aion emphasizes that there's a small chance of bumping into other candidates from the other doom bringers, so she warned him to finish the task the system set out for him as soon as possible and tread carefully in order to survive as they could stumble up upon him anytime and kill him on the spot.
Of course, he has a shot of going for a bigger catch to speed up the process, he tried and Aion was completely against it. But he shrugged off Aion's warning and at first look, he arrogantly mocked the monster's sizes as he thought it would only be an EZ-Peazy job like crushing some ants. But that turned out completely different from what he had expected.
—They were all exceptionally strong.
He tried and couldn't help but cursed at himself in his mind for being so weak and so pathetic at almost dying by the hands of a piglet sized monster's mouth was only a few breaths away from his face. If Aion wasn't there at his side, he would have died a thousand times already. He sighs in relief as it was otherwise.
It has only been two days... yet, for some reason, he had already grown accustomed to the wonders of this place. The amazing landscapes, rivers, and strange-looking trees were always a sight to be in awe, every time he stares at them. And rare herbs from earth were just common weeds in here where you can just pick it up any time of the day.
This is a totally different place from the earth where he used to live.
But still, he couldn't help but think and wonder what those people back on earth might be doing right now. Those people who he once have a hard time blending in, I'm sure they would have just simply shrugged off my disappearance as of no significant meaning or effect to them. Yet, he couldn't help but still wonder. But that's when he suddenly remember a certain person in his head.
—His Childhood friend.
I wonder what she's doing now. He couldn't help but reminisce about his days with her as she was the only person who was there for him even though the world was against him. She must be pretty worried by now...
I'm sorry Remi...
He apologized to her in his head thinking he may not be able to return for a very long time now. He lamented it for a while before a sudden drive overwhelmed him to get stronger as soon as possible.
Then suddenly, a cold can of soda touched his face as he shivered by the unexpected coldness. He turned to look and found the culprit to be Aion. But it should be pretty obvious as they were the only pair that was around in the forest.
Aion jerked off a smile before saying:
"What? you look as if you've seen a ghost."
Kado simply gazes her off in annoyance before momentarily took the can out of her hand.
Eh.
That's when he saw and realized it was a can of soda back from his world and then a question rose from his head.
"Where did you get this?"
