A few minutes later the screams died down, along with it, the body of the man turned to ashes and piled up on where we were standing earlier.
Looking at it, Fred snickered, "You thought I'll fight you, huh."
He turned his eyes to the aquarium that holds the captured mermaids that are looking at him with hostile and vigilant eyes.
Seeing those eyes, Fred said, "I'm not an enemy. I'm here to rescue you all."
But there was no reaction from the mermaids. They just keep on staring at him with the same eyes from before.
"You guys don't believe me?" he asked,
No one responded to his question, but from the look in their eyes, Fred is sure that he is correct.
Fred let out a sigh, "It was Le- *cough* Master Leviathan who asked me to save you all."
Then looking at the doubtful eyes of those mermaids, Fred added, "I am his apprentice by the way."
