After he step inside the room, with shining eyes, Fred cheer up and bliss can be seen on his face as a pleasant smile crept up his lips.
What was uncovered from behind that wooden door is actually a treasure trove!
He saw 3 treasure chest above a table, each with different sizes, on the left side is the smallest of them all which is only about 6 inches width and 5 inches tall.
On the most left side is the second largest which is about 15 inches but still in comparison to that it still looks small standing beside the biggest one which is about 34 inches.
Additionally, each one have decorations to them but once again, the one in the middle which is the biggest still makes the two other pale in comparison because of the majesty of its design.
This is not to say that the two others doesn't look good, but it's just that they can't show their beauty with the biggest one beside them.
Aside from those treasure chest, there are also gold coins lying at one side, piling up into a mountain of gold.
The smile on Fred's face is almost like he became crazy. He felt that if he don't keep down his happiness he will tear his own face because of smiling too much.
After the happiness, confusion appeared on his face as he look at all those gorgeous looking chest and the pile of gold at the side.
"Why is this place full of treasure? So rich and just letting all these things here?"
This gives the feeling as if he is a protagonist of some novel and this is his fortuitous encounter.
"...Oh well, I'll just take everything from here."
He said and walk to the smallest of all the chest. Without ceremony, lifted the cover and opened the chest. There's no lock or anything that stops him from opening it so, easy life I must say.
A rusty looking ring revealed itself after the chest was uncovered. It's so plain looking without any design in it. Adding the rust to it, it really looks like a trash.
Compared to the chest where it was placed into, the chest seems to be the treasure between this two.
Fred picked up the ring and inspect it turning it around to see if there is anything especially on it.
But after a few more looks, it really doesn't have anything on it to be called a treasure, so he stop.
"What the hell is this!?" He said, his voice sounds like he is complaining.
He was so excited seeing those chest expecting a peerless treasure appearing, but what he got is just a rusty ring!? Who won't complain, right?
Fred's face looks so angry right now, then he said,
"No! I don't believe this! This must be some kind of treasure but I just can't see it with my plain eyes!
"I know! I should create an appraisal skill!"
With that, in just a few seconds he got an additional skill.
[Appraisal (Basic): This skill will enable the user to inspect the details of an object to see it's origin. The higher the rank, the more you can see about the item.]
With one look on this skill, the mood of Fred was back to normal.
He immediately used appraisal on the rusty ring he is holding.
A transparent screen appeared before his eyes.
[Hugo's Ring: The greatest thief on the world of Reverse Expanse ring where he kept his stolen treasures.
Rating: Legendary (AN: Normal, Uncommon, Rare, Unique, Epic, Legendary, Mythical)
Equipment Skills: Item Box(Infinite Space), Speed x2, Auto Fit, Repair, ???, ???, ???
Special Properties: ???]
When Fred look at the appraisal, the first thing he saw was the item tank stating that this rusty ring in his hand is really a treasure!
This truth made Fred's eyes shine once again. Then he look at the explanation of the origin of this that doesn't contain that much information.
The only thing useful on that is that he learned that this item is from another world and there was once an owner of it, a thief much less.
Although the knowledge of something like an another world might be a surprising thing to other (even if this world is already messed up having dungeons and the likes), for Fred, it's not something surprising.
As for why, isn't that obvious, he himself is from another world, Heh!
After looking at the appraisal of the ring fully, Fred closed it and the screen vanish.
He now look at the ring in his hands like a delicate baby that should be treated with care.
Then he inserted it into his ring finger, the ring is actually a bit bigger than his ring finger but since the appraisal said that this ring have an auto fit function, he thought that it will just adjust itself to fit him.
But after wearing it, there was no reaction, he waited for a few more seconds but still there's no change.
Fred is starting to feel frustrated with this, and he took a deep breath to release the negative feelings that was gathering inside him since earlier.
*Haaaa..*
Then, Fred remember something. Without anymore nonsense, using the axe on his other hand, he pierce his thumb a bit with it's sharp corner until a bit of blood leak out.
He let the blood drop on the ring. And a magical thing happened.
The ring started shining with bright light and the rust on it started to chip away dropping on the floor.
Just a few seconds pass and the light died down.
But now, instead of a rusty ring, a beautiful ring with tree roots as it's design replaced it on Fred's ring finger.
The ring then automatically adjusted itself to fit him.
A laugh came out of Fred as he look at the ring,
"I was right, it really is just like those novels where you need a drop of blood to bound the item in you.
"This feels so funny for real, Am I actually a novel protagonist or something!? I feel like I'm being played but, oh well haha!"
After, he took a few minutes to silently appreciate the art on his ring finger.
When he's finished with that, he turn his attention to the pile of gold and smiled.
