Fred took out the two vials filled with green liquid and the tattered book that he got from the chest.
When the girl saw the things he was holding, she was stunned. As a clerk here, she was trained to recognize all the items that came out from the dungeon before she was appointed to a dungeon.
When she saw that he took out a book, her previous judgment that he is a pitiful man changed. She previously thought that by the fruitful journey, he was talking about the 17 small magic stones.
But now, it seems like he really did have a fruitful journey based on those things that he took out.
Fred placed the book and the vials at the counter to let the lady clerk have a look at it.
She picked it up and inspected it, a few seconds later she said, "There's no problem with these vials of Body Strengthening potions, but for the skill book... Our appraiser is currently out at the moment." she has an irritated and forced smile at the end and you can also see her eyebrows twitching,
'THAT DAMN GAMBLING ADDICT OF AN APPRAISER!' is what she is thinking inside of her.
"Oh, is that so... Hmm... Then can I just asks what I can do with these things? The truth is, I'm new to all this and know nothing."
Fred thought of asking 'cause he really doesn't know anything yet. He only scanned a few things on the internet last night and that's it.
Heck, he doesn't even know the basics of this world! How is he even supposed to survive without knowing anything!?
The clerk ponder about it and answered, "Well, first about what you can do to these items, it's your choice. You can either sell it or use it yourself, anything that you take out from the dungeon will be considered as your property except for some special situation."
"As for information, you can join the adventurer guild and become an adventurer. They have a vast network throughout the world. So you can almost know anything if you have permission." she said, then she gave him back the items by placing it on the counter.
Fred remembered about adventurers, why did he not think of it. "Can I ask, how can I become an adventurer? Is there a requirement for it?"
"To be an adventurer, first you have to be 18+. Then you need to show your skills to the guild or if you don't want your skills to be known, you can just request an entrance fight to the guild. That's all the requirements that are required, which in my opinion is pretty lax."
Hearing that, Fred decided to register as n adventurer. So he asked, "Uhm, where can I register as an adventurer?"
"Well, you can go to City Hall to register. Just bring your ID and birth certificate for documents." advised the lady,
Fred felt happy and thanked her, "Yes, thank you very much, miss..." he took a look at the chest part of her uniform where a tag with the name, 'Maria', is written, "...Miss Maria!"
Maria smiled in return, "Just doing my job. Hope you have a great night."
"Yes, you as well, have a great night!"
He turned around and left the booth. After leaving the booth, Fred thought of what to do.
"Hmm... First, I should go and shop for dinner. As for registering... that can be done tomorrow." he said after looking at the dark sky.
He decided to just walk to the market as it is just nearby. Just a few minutes of walking and he arrived at the bustling streets.
Fred is the type of person that doesn't like going around and just searching for what he needs. He is concise about it when shopping, he just buys everything that he needs then leave the market.
So without any thought, he headed to the meat section and bought a chicken to be fried later. Then he went to the vegetables and picked a few before he goes and searches for the other ingredients for his food.
Then he brought it all to the counter and paid for it. As he was paying for it, he heard a ruckus happening on the streets.
A man wearing an all-black and a black bonnet is running at a fast speed while holding a luxurious looking bag.
Behind him, a few meters away, a old chubby woman that is full of makeup on her face while full of jewelry on her body is shouting,
"Help! A thief, he snatches my bag! Please help!" she scream from the top of her lungs and her voice sounded a bit irritating.
A few people tried to stop the man but he always evaded them and continued to run faster.
Seeing that situation, Fred first thought was to bring out his camera and record it. But he stopped himself.
'I should be stopping the crime instead of recording a video of it!'
He grabbed the paper bag with the things that he bought and started running after the thief.
His physical enhancement skills look relatively limited because it's only the low type. But still, it seems that it is enough to catch the thief.
He arrived in front of the running thief, planning to block him off the path to stop him.
"Get out of the way if you don't want to die!" yell the thief to Fred. Fred did not move away, he did not even let out a sound, he only stared at the criminal in front of him, focusing on him.
But suddenly, the thief pulled out a knife from his pocket and speeded up, dashing towards Fred.
Fred was not that surprised that the thief has a knife, but he still froze when he saw the knife coming to him.
The thief stabbed it on his abdomen.
Luckily, he reacted before he got stabbed.
*Ding*
The sound of metal hitting metal sounded when the thief thrust the knife on the stomach of Fred.
The thief was surprised by that cause he did not see anything in there that is made of metal.
While the thief is still a bit out of it because of surprise, Fred used his elbow to hit the nape of the thief, causing him to go down. Then Fred jumped behind the thief and hold his hands behind him to stop him from fighting back.
Fred holds unto the arms of the thief with one hand while his other hand touches his stomach as he sighs.
He was lucky there because he reacted fast and placed a metal plate from his inventory inside his shirt. Or else, he might already have a hole in his abdomen.
Anyway, it is now safe, so he thought of calling the chubby woman to get her items but he was stopped, by a beautiful but fierce voice.
"Freeze! Don't move!"
