About twenty five years prior to the events of the interrogation of Atarashi Kyouta, his hometown, Nerima, fell into a political crisis caused by the great quake. Due to the insufficient amount of efforts by the local government in rehabilitating their ruined town, the quality of life dropped, resulting in civil unrest. Revolts from the local townsfolk happened left and right for months that it even worsened the already horrific situation. However, it was not only the landlord and his vassals the ones being taken over.
"Honey, why'd you take us here in the barn?..", asked Misato with a worried look on her face. She shot glances back and forth the fields around them and their four year old daughter.
Kyouta gave his wife a stern gaze. "The Yakuza might come for me and use you both as collateral since I can't pay.. they're being taken over by a rival syndicate and are desperately scouring for funding."
